Hey Guys

I own a stocked 1995 RX-7 and have a few buddies that own grand prix’s. I am stocked and they are modded. All they even seem to do is run their mouth about how crappy RX-7’s are. I even checked out their forum and looks like they are nothing but RX-7 bashers on that forum.

It looks like one RX-7 boy just got so angry he went off on their entire forum on this thread. Lol, he made a lot of them look dumb in my book. I have read most of the Grand Prix posts and their nothing but haters on that forum. Just an FYI on the haters out there..

Man, the way he made it out to seem, it seems like a grand prix I owned the other night where the Grand Prix tried to do a ricer fly by and ended up getting blown away AGAIN and then HE squealed his tires and made a left hand turn;

from a third gear roll my 88 tii left a modded gtp and alls i had done was a muffler and filter it was funny they kept saying our motors were **** but they couldnt really give a reason why like what made them so shitty they are all just a bunch of **** who come across those cars at used car lots and think they are cool so they ask mommy and daddy to buy it for them they all wish they could own a fd but are to poor oh well **** them up their stupid asses

WTF are you talking about? He's the one that was made to look dumb. Sure, the grand prix owners do talk **** about the 7, but thats only because they are uneducated about RX-7's. In my books, hes an immature ******* that is an excellent example of exactly what he was explaining, an ingnorant piece of ****. He needs to grow up a little, and so does anyone else that actually thinks he had anything intelligent to say.

I've driven a Bonneville SSEi and almost bought it because it was a quick car for being so heavy. The potential of the 3.8 V6 is amazing too. About $1000 of work could bring that engine well over 300 hp. BTW, the engine in the bonveville SSEi is the exact same engine as the Grand prix GTP, Regal, and Park Avenue have. Its this kind of bashing that REALLY annoys me because I have respect for pretty much ANY car, and I really thought a 7 owner would have conducted himself better.

 

Some mexicans here have a mid - late 90's grand prix. Its green with silver racing stripe decals, and some writing across it. Has a big wing on it (not aluminum tho), and spinner hubcaps. They think they are bad. I agree with 85rotary that they have potential...but most owners seem to half-*** their cars and think they are bad.

 

Everyone rotary hater always uses the lame excuse:

"I've got about 4 or 5 buddys that had rx7s and they all blew up because rotarys aren't reliable"

I always stab back at them:

"Yeah, don't blame it on the car, blame it on the person behind the wrench" and they get so pissed off stating the obvious retarded facts "oh well he's running so and so and he knows how to work on cars they are just crap" and I just stand there chuckling.

Then the rest of the rotary crew shows up at the hang out, park right beside the Red N/A 2nd (me) and the Yellow FD (nother local) and no one will challenge any car there besides my car, they always pick on the N/A because they know its the only car there they can hang with.

in the first thread they really didn't bash the rx-7s that bad at all. they even said that the na's are generally pretty slow but the turbos are a lot faster, etc. i mean come on it was a grand prix forum. thats not too bad if you ask me.

i have some decent respect for the GTP's. they arent that bad of cars if you want something pretty quick that can still carry friends around in reasonable comfort. hell, they will own most civics out there without much trouble. i know this because i have a swapped civic that i use for a DD and a GTP with a pulley and exhaust kicked my *** one night with a full carload of people in it.

I was looking on there on another thread where one was saying he beat a SRT-10 Ram Quad Cab. The SRT-10 only comes reg cab doesnt it? Or am I wrong?

 

They added a crew cab model for 05, if I recall.

 

Ya but the crew cab version is only AUTOMATIC. I believe its the allison 5 speed tranny that backs up the cummins diesel, just modified a little. Its dodges only automatic that will take the power of the V10.

 

Grand Prix's etc. are in a COMPLETELY different league that an Rx7.

They're large, family/sports sedans. Rx7's are lightweight sports-car's.

Perfect example of WHY it's disgustingly pointless to compare:

My good friend's MOM has a very, very nice Regal GS. This is like the newer, supercharged Buick, with the 3.6 yada, yada.

Their family is really into cars, so they got a smaller 12 pound pulley, suspension, intake, exhaust, shift-kit etc... I've got to say, I love driving around in it, because we can pack 4 of us in there (comfortably) and go smoke Honda's all night. Plus, the sound is simply amazing (because of the supercharger).

Although it's relatively fast, we all recognize that any SERIOUS comparison to ANY of our cars is just pointless--it's a sedan. It weights nearly 4k lbs.

Anyone around the age of 20 with that car, SERIOUSLY repping it, has a problem.

I disagree. I test drove a 05 bmw 525 and 05 (supercharged!) GP on a closed road course at this GM promotional event and I would have to say the GP felt MUCH faster. My friend and I were both disapointed with the 525s power.

Thats right, my mom's car is on it.....the car comes with a stock lsd and it was able to pull consistant 14.7's before the shift kit and intake. The shift kit made a huge difference in power delivery and gear to gear transitiions, and as always forced induction will always be down to get more air, via the CIA. It will probably pull low 14's all day how it sits now.

The look on the faces of kids with B serise swapped Hondas when their getting pulled on by a large american four door luxury sadan rollin four deep is PRICELESS.

 

what i love about this forum is that we dont talk crap (most of us dont) about other cars. lets keep it that way. honestly there are some guys on this forum that run monster speeds.. oh well. haha but i got to say i love the rx7. beautiful with great speed and potential.. haha yea my .02 cents

 

different strokes for different folks, I honestly think the GTPs aren't that great lookin', think it's all the plastic trim and stuff. so wait, are they coming out with like a G6 higher end?

The SRT-10 pickup uses the Viper motor doesn't it? I know the reg. cab is faster than crap, 150+ top speed, 0-60 around 5-something, I seriously doubt any knucklehead in a big **** mommy-mobile would stand a chance against one of those trucks, why do people talk so much crap and lie so much on the internet? just baffling
