Got my catback on today...so I owned a poor BMW owner :-P

I was out in the GT today and was enjoying my new catback..its throaty and I feel increased throttle response. In reality, I probably only gained like 7-10rwhp at the wheels, but the butt-o-meter says 20rwhp..haha. Anyway, on to the kill..

I was cruising down the highway and was minding my own business when I see a pair of halogen(this bmw didn't have HID's) headlights/foglights approaching me from the left. The speed limit is 55 and I about doing about 57. Anyway I throw on my blinker and gas it enough to get in front of the guy..I am a reasonable distance ahead after gassing it..so I slow back down to the speed limit and the guys headlights start to come up faster.

I move back to the right lane and the Beemer gets next to me and starts pacing me. I wasn't going to go first, so I just wait for him to gun it. He hits the gas and I dont floor it, but I start pacing him while he gasses it. After doing this for a few seconds I floor it throw about 1-2 cars on him and let off(I was on the gas for like 3-6 seconds..around there). The BMW then comes back up and I floor it again..this time till I have like 4 cars on him..then i let off.

We are now at a section of the highway where the posted limit is 45mph. I slow down to 40mph and the guy is like 5 cars back...scared I guess. To see if he was really scared to pass me...I slow down to 35. This time he is about 3 cars back. I am laughing pretty hard at this point. About 10 seconds later He tries one more sneak attack and I simply hit it until I get to my turn off. I had fun..don't really think he did though.

BTW it was a 3 series..I don't care what model. All I know is that it wasn't an m3, an m3 would have been a similar story. Just put negative signs in front of the cars I added to the BMW, and changed "laughing" to "crying" HAHA.

The pulleys, gears, are not installed yet. Only the catback is at the time being. I look forward to see the improvements from pulleys and gears.

I don't think an M3 would've been a similar story, they're in high to mid 13s depending on the year.

yeah but if you read the end of the story he said the story would have been the same only the complete opposite.....at least thats what i kind of understood from his last few sentances

either way nice kill, cars not fast but at least you could figure out how to race unlike half the people around here that consider ricer flyby's a fair race

Yeah, that's what he was saying when he said; "A similar story... (but) change laughing to crying".

An m3 would have handed it to me...I sorta stated that, sorry if the end of my story was a bit unclear.

Yeah, that's why it didn't click to me what he was saying, it would've been a good race against an M3.

High 13s on a good day...low 14s is the norm. That applies to all 99-04's. With everything installed, I should be high thirteenish. A m3 would hand it to me, with my mods in it would be pretty close from a stop. It would start to pull away(steady and quickly) from 60+

NO 99-04 stock is in the mid 13's..that is 05 GT territory.
