RotaryDreamz: Yes, you should very well have beaten that WS6. From what I've seen, they run low-mid 13s stock with a good driver. You also need to remember that you only raced him to 85mph. That's not quite the 1/8 of a mile on a WS6 as far as mph that they reach in the 1/8. They have plenty of torque(where the FD is lacking) so it is only natural that they pull on you in the lower gears. You were probably just starting to reel him in very slowly when you let off. I say do it again and race to about 110. You should see different results.

thanx for the input Dee... im going to have my car checked out and see what the real problem is... i never drag race, so i guess it was a good thing that i raced my friend, or else i prolly wouldnt have ever known that there was a problem...

With my current mods (and stock injectors) I eat stock LS1s, the only one I ever had competition with was a WS6 vert that the guy said only had the cats off but we thought it had NOS too cuz we were straight neck and neck for all our mid speed pulls up to 120 or so where he backed off.

But those cars are mean in lower gears, unless your car has lots of power you won't be able to pull on a modded one until you get into 3rd.

I didn't realize you were selling your whole car, Sean. Is it because of the baby? If you do part it out, I'll definately take that PowerFC, and I'd be interested in a list of whatever else you have.

Sean's a good seller

Sorry to say your fuel setup is still sitting in the box on top of my printer...it'll be a while till they are installed.

I hate to see a perfectly good FD get parted out....but it's so easy to be a vulture sometimes, when my not-so-perfectly good FD is waiting for parts.

yea, after having my newborn, money is just going left and right... so now i must sell my beloved FD, but i wont be out of the scene for long... hopefully my tax returns could help me out on this one.... but anyways, if i do plan on parting my car out, you'll be first in line for the parts, i gurantee you that....

but thanx for the props, you were very good to do business with as well... trust me, you will have tons of fun once you get the injectors n such installed... be safe...

Yes, he then gave them a "wrong" description of my car. Later that night I was blocked in a parking lot by 3 cop cars but since they couldn't prove it was me they just told me to leave MO and go back to the IL side and dont come back for a while.....

WTF? What are you smoking? You need to pass it this way, I think you need to get rid of your ebay boost gauge or stop racing stock automatic LT1's. Im calling BS on this one

I think you are leaving torque out of the eqaution as well, Not every one has a torqueless POS rotary.

Okay, according to your theory if I put an electric motor in your car that produces 300lb ft of torque your car will not move!?

Torque does not imply movement retard, so yea, it could potentially not move.

okay what is the deffinition of torque then? Torque is a measure of how much a force acting on an object causes that object to rotate. Horsepower is how quickly the work is done. SO if your car has absolutely zero torque your car WILL NOT MOVE! ******* dumbass

The thing about stock LS-1 powered cars is they SEEM like they should be so much faster, don't you agree? Don't get me wrong, I am definitely one of the guys that knows how strong even stock ones run, they are truly impressive cars.
But if you watch them race, from a "spectators" point of view, they bring a certain...menace...or whatever. They sound good, leave the line hard often accompanied by impressive wheel spin and rear end swerving, etc. But in the end they aren't all that much faster than a lot of much less impressive imports. I remember watching a LS-1 Camaro race a 2nd gen Eclipse that'd had a few mods done to it, the Camaro just stormed off the line, the Eclipse barely squeaked a tire...lol! Yet at the end of the race the Camaro only won by a car length or so.

Way to put words in my mouth. I said that having an eletric motor with 300 ft-lb of torque does not guarentee that the car will move, not that the car would move with 0 ft-lb of torque.

Torque is simply τ=r*F and can be static.

Edited because I sounded like a jerk. Not knowing turbotommy, he MAY have the by-God end-all, be-all RX-7 that ever lived that can indeed destroy any LS-1 car.
My apologies.

You know, there will always be a faster car out there, right? ..even an LS1.

But if you are serious about this, head over here and I'm sure you'll be able to find a race in your area: http://ls1tech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=56

yes, you are absolutley correct. However im sick and tired of hearing how crazy ls1's are etc... especially from rotary guys. They are just simply not impressive. that big *** truck motor better be making power and be fast considering the size of it. But they arent. i have plenty of friends with fully built ls1's with nitrous and wo nitrous and they just arent impressive. i havent lost to one yet. But you are correct, someone is always faster. but i firmly believe i will beat 99% of ls1's that are street cars in a 1/4mile or a highway roll. Thanks for the link
