G1 teg vs 88 vert

My car vs my car, prett basic run with very few mods to either car.

89 Teg

B16A3
Type R trans
Toda cams(waiting on ITBs)
Ebay exhaust

88 Vert RX7

S/P motor
88GTU rear diff
Header
Cutom CAI using the stock tyoe box(modified) and a K&N

Took them to the track The other day and it was pretty nice. The track was perfect and I didnt do a burnout on either car. I ran a 10.2 in the vert and a 9.6 in the teg this was in the 8th mile. Good day, good day

The vert made 180FWHP about 4 years ago, but at that time it had a SDJ header, Megasquirt ECU, and some other things.

mmm, all thing being equal the teg makes around 140 to the wheels I believe and so did the NA rx7's the big difference is weight from what I see. 3000 lb rx7 vs 2200 lb integra. Power band is deffinatly higher on the 7 but the teg was one of the highest reving of its day--redline at 7500 (or was it 6500? It's been awhile since I've owned one).

If those were the final numbers I'd put my money on the teg. However the integra has a limited amount of modifications you could do to it. Only recently did a turbo come out for the D16A (3 years ago I believe is when I saw the write up). Besides swapping in a different engine of a simliar deminsion etc. it would prove a rather finite life as a modification car. The 7 has a much broader range of aftermarket support.

This leads me to consider the fact that it really depends on the race course. IF it's just a straight line drag then stock for stock I think the 7 would fall behind and have to work hard to catch up. If it's a road coarse the nose heavy teg would loose out on the braking aspect of the turns.
/end my $.02

I dunno it was only dynoed out of the car. I would say something like 160 or so HP at the wheels, which isnt a big gain over the stock S4 but it was a very small street port. And I may have put p the wrong accro as I said FWHP I meant flywheel Hp to clear up any info.

In totally stock form the 1st gen teg makes 118HP at the wheels. This was with the ZC motor though, which had slightly larger cams and a better following head. I swapped in the B16 mainly because I had tapped out the D16A1(dohc D series FTMFW) power potential. I wanted to stay NA but wanted it cheap so the B16 was the best choice. I added in the type r trans because of the closer ratios and the factory LSD and the better power holding over the stock POS B16 trans.

THe suspension is "slightly" moded it has stiffer T-bars( torsion bars also FTMFW) with ground controls on the rar with AGX dampers all around. I reused the stock 14in rims and wrapped them in some nexxen rubber

The block is (off the top of my head) 2-3in taller than a b series and the head is just a stupid amount taller. Ever seen a CRX with a b series in it. They have about an inch of clearance between the hood and valve cover. Most of the time when you see a CRX with a k series swapped in the intake and about an inch of the valve cover stick above the hood(this is with the most minimal clearance given to the oil pan).
