G/F's brother's turbo jetta owns me
My g/f's brother has a 98 Jetta 2.0 with a turbo kit similar to a gt28/30 (.48/ .52). With a chip and a stage 2 clutch(Im sure im forgetting a few things). I been wanting to run him for a while just for the heck of it. So last night my buddy is with him, calls me to meet up and have some fun.
We get to the spot and do a slow roll in first side by side. He honks 3 times and we go. I had him off the line pretty good. stayed a full car length on him till the end of second then he just blows right by me like nothing and is gone. Turns out he completely lied to me.(He was suppose to be at 5psi and was at 11psi!!)
Next run with him still at 11psi we start from a dig and same thing happens of course.
He then tells me he's at 11psi so im like WTF turn it down. So he turns it down to 6-7psi for the next run.
We start again with a slow roll while im in first. We honk and go. I had a car length on him till 65ish mph then he blows by me.
The last race we do it from a dig but he gives me 2 car lengths, still at 6-7 psi.
We honk and go. I kept some distance on him till i was pretty much at the end of 3rd(80ish mph) then he blows by me.
We get back to my g/f's and chat for awhile before i go home. Overall im pretty impressed with my 7 going against a turbo'd car. Yeah i know its not quite a fair race but it was just for fun!! My g/f's brother was impressed how well my 7 could pull through the first 3 gears no problem. He's never run aagint any rotary before. And my buddy couldnt believe how well i did for a n/a car. After last night.....I NEED A T2 MOTOR! I feel with some mods and a turbo i could run a good amount of people in my town. I may have gotten romped but rotary for the win!!!
