So I'm headed down to a friend's place last night on the parkway, and this black STI pulls up next to me. He paces me to my left. By the sound of it it definately didn't have a stock exhaust and had a whistle type blow off valve. So I throw him the thumbs up, and he just sits there reving. So I just pop it into third gear to show off, floor it for a couple of secs, and back off. He sees me take off and I guess he thoughtI was trying to race cause he chased after me about a second after I floored it. So he pulls up next to me again, I'm like "oh well, might as well". I drop it into 3rd. He beeps three times, and we both floor it. We start out at our bumpers fully lined up, for the first 10mph, he pulls on me by about a foot, the second 15mph, we're dead even, the next 10mph, i start pulling him in, and my pace is picking up on him every half of a seoncd. So I pull out about a 1/4 of a car length on him and them back off, figured the race was over, knowing the driving dynamic of the subarus (spectacular low end/mid range cars, not that great at top end though). The guy keeps going, I guess he didn't realize I backed off, and pulled out about 7 car lengths in front of me. I then had to make my exit, so I threw another thumbs up at him and took the exit.

After getting off the exit and getting onto another highway, a yellow lambo (gallardo) peels out of the toll booth and guns it to about 70 and slows down. So I see him pull out and wanted to take a closer look at the car. So I popped into 3rd once again and jumped up after him. There was no one else on the road except for a truck that was in front of the lambo on this 2 lane road, and I'm in the left lane. The guy was minding his own buiness, and it was a gorgeous car, so I put on my interior lights and gave him the thumbs up. He just looked at me with a smirk, gave me a nod, and keeps drivin. So I'm like ok, smile, and drop a gear and floor it once again. I guess he didn't expect my car to drive that hard, cause his smirk wasn't there as I pulled out. I pulled in front of the truck and went over into the right lane and maintained speed. Within 2 seconds the lambo gets into the left lane and pulls up next to me. The guy revs his engine. I look at him with a confused look and yeel out of my window "I ain't that stupid!". He laughed, we gave each other the thumbs up, and he drove off.

Then a chavy cobalt with straight pipes tried to race me......................... felt like it ended before it even started.

i think getting killed by a lambo is better than beating an sti as much as i hate to say it. i would have tried it just to gauge those cars. used to see a couple arabs with the gallardos, when i was overseas. nice cars but the sand chews up the paint.

You should've definitely hit it against the lambo, why not? Besides that opportunity doesn't present itself that often and IMO you totally missed out. Sounds like you had fun nonetheless though.

yeah, i guess so, but to be honest i knew if i would have raced the lambo it would have probably taken us to 120+ which i didn't want to do with all of the cops bein out. was fun never the less

ok if you were talking to a girl who knew nothing about cars except for the exotics. what would you say to her to describe how fast your car is? would you say my car barely lost to a lambo or say my car beat an sti? and no i hate losing for the record
