Friends 476hp 240sx vs 450+Evo vs BPU+++ Supra (VIDEOS INSIDE)

My friends 240sx is fully built, HKS 264's, SC61 turbo, blah blah blah...24psi. The Supra has basic performance upgrades like boost controller, full exhaust....race gas but dont know how much boost he was running. The Evo has HKS 272's, GT35R turbo running 27-28psi. It was a fun night. Ill let the video do the talking.

And here is another vid from the same night with the Evo with the GT35R against my friends BMW M Roadster with SC61 turbo, fully built engine and all surrounding upgrades. The BMW made 570hp at 17psi. He was running 14psi this night.

Looks like the Evo can move! Nice run... you both seem to be pretty evenly matched.

Hey, what happened to the Supra???

Basic Performance Upgrades. The supra has just about every available bolt on there is except a upgraded turbo. Hes still on stock twins with race gas(he still made an 11 second pass, dont know specifics).

Partially your post is true about the supra having a bigger turbo and the odds would turn because most supra owners get huge turbos to make 600+. But there are some supra owners that dont go that far and still upgrade and will get walked by my friends 240sx, and if not him definately my friends M Roadster. BTW, for everyone interested in the BMW you can go to www.boostlogic.com, thats where he works and he helped piece together and make the turbo kits they sell for BMW's. Its typically the same exact kit and turbo he uses on his M Roadster.

This one I like because my friends 240sx and the BMW M Roadster (on 14 psi) both miss 4th gear (trannys getting hot) at almost the same time, and we get back on it. The 240sx then threw it into 5th and let off.

You do not need a huge turbo to make over 600 rwhp. A 61mm turbo has been proven to make low 600rwhp and that is considered a "baby" turbo.

Since your making this remark, care to show me a dyno graph of a supra "without spray" that makes 600+ on a 61mm turbo? According to a good friend of mine that works at Performance Motorsports (Chris Johnson), theyve used 67mm's + to make 600+.

The bike in the vids is a 05' ZX10R, the quickest production bike out, quicker than a Hyabusa. Its funny how you say they shouldnt get walked by that bike yet you dont even know what bike that is.

SP61GT- Also utilizing NEW 61mm GT compressor wheels, the SP61GT delivers 50 more RWHP than the SP58GT. A perfect choice for a 6 spd supra car on stock fuel. Maximum RWHP is 650 if fuel requirements are met. Now available with anti surge housing!

Thats cool. Saying what a turbo is capable of and actually doing it are two different things though. I really dont doubt it cant be done but I have never seen one and I would like to see a dyno of one that makes over 600+.

Chris Johnson is a well respected member in the supra community so I do not disregard his comment at all. The 67mm turbos make mid 600rwhp on stock cams and stock intake manifold. A personal friend of mine has one of the highest power output from a 67mm turbo by utilizing the aem standalone, cams and headwork.

http://www.moreboost.org/graphics/turbos/CTC67H_SO1.jpg

And you asked for a 61mm turbo with no spray. This was done with a small exhaust housing (.58a/r). Typically guys run a .68 a/r which yields ~30rwhp or so.

http://www.moreboost.org/graphics/turbos/T61_TM1.jpg

You can check out the rest of the power ratings that various turbos on the 2jz produce at www.moreboost.org. I will try to get more graphs once the supraforums are back up and running.
