Actually the EK9 is the B16B equipped '96-'00 Civic Type R. The EK4 SiR/SiR-G hatchback has a B16A. EM1 is a USDM chassis code because the B16A equipped '96-'00 Coupe was never offered in Japan.
Why complain about chassis codes when everybody uses FB/FC/FD (japan uses SA22/FC3S/FD3S) when referring to RX-7's? Using chassis makes it easier to identify the Honduh that you slaughtered, barely beat or got raped by!! If you don't know which chassis code is being being mentioned, google and/or wikipedia will send you in the correct direction. You can also use the link to Honda-Tech that was posted.
