FD vs. Supra

Alright, about a year ago there were a bunch of people hanging out up at a wawa by where i live and a friend called me up saying that a supra wanted to race someone, so i said i was game. I went up, we raced, I won by a good amount cuz he had a messed up actuator on one of his twins, which he did not know about. Both cars were BPU+++ i guess you could say.Me and the guy have been friends ever since, always hanging out with the cars and going to events and such. We both said that when we got our single turbo set ups we would run it again so he could win his 50 bucks back that he lost in the first race.

We both now have our single turbo set ups so we did some pulls on the highway yesterday. I have a gt40r on 14psi, stock motor, all supportting mods. He has a t51 kai (71mm) turbo on 19psi, stock internals, all the supporting mods. We both knew what the outcome would be since i trapped 121mph at the track he went 127mph. But we did it anyways

First race, we line up,60-65 mph, no honks i just go. We both kinda figured it would even out a little if i got the kick. So i jump maybe about 1/2 car on him and by the end of 3rd he is starting to real me in. We both shift to 4th, he is up next to me and we both shut down before we come up on the cars in front of us.

2nd race, we line up at about 65 mph again, this time we both go on the third honk. We stay pretty even in third, my nose at his rear bumper. We both shift to 4th and he just starts walking away from me. We shut down at the end of 4th about 120mph or so and he has about 2 1/2-3 cars on me.

It was a fun loss, but you know you cant win them all. His supra is extremely fast and it was a good time. The best part was one of his buddies came out with his supra yesterday as well and the two supras did some pulls. My friends supra lost to the other supra by 2 cars from about 65- 140 mph, crazy fast car. The other supra that came up had a built motor(pretty sure), cams, 76mm turbo and all the supporting mods.

I will see if he wants to get some pulls on video in the next couple days or this weekend.

Supras are nasty on highway runs, especially single turbo supras.

400rwhp at 14psi? Could you list the supporting mods you have? That's a pretty good number if you're running on stock ports. How's the lag?

Supporting mods are, 1600cc secondaries, nippondenso fuel pump, full 3 inch exhaust, apexi power fc, greddy 2 row fmic, turbo is a gt40r with a 1.06 hot side. Basically the usual stuff. The cars actual numbers were 388rwhp at 14.5-15psi, so thats why i said about 400rwhp, it sounds better. =) I see 10 psi by about 4k so its not terribly bad.

turn the boost up and spank him Not exactly sure why people get these huge turbos and then only push 14psi out of them. They require at least 20 or so psi to start getting into the sweet spot.

^^Nope i dont. And dont really need one right now. On only 14psi my stock sensor works just fine Now when i crank the boost on the next couple weeks with the 109 out of the pump around me....i will have to be careful..or get a 3 bar before then.
