Something sounds fishy. He had asingle turbo, but only 10psi? And stock tune?
The RB26DETT comes stock with 2 turbos and 2 maf sensors. Now hooking up both mafs ( stock ecu) to a singlke turbo is not worth it.
He was either stock twins ( where you can see just the first on, or a RB25 ( the are single turbo).

I have a S13 with a RB26DET. When the car had the stock twins, just HKS small ic and full exhaust at 10psi ( no boost controller, just vacuum line to wastegates) it did 300whp. Now who knows - needs additional pump, because it runs a single HKS T51r SPL, Greddy 3row IC, HKS rail, 1000cc inj, PFC djetro, etc etc. At 17psi it maxxed the walbro and did 490 extremely lean ( 15:1 afr lean) above 7000rpms. So now i shift at 7K, until I find time to do a pump

He wasn't on the stock tune. He just had a basic tune that ran it rich, i'm assuming for break-in and until he got his new software in...

I ran a RB26 in a 96 240..it was pretty heavily modded..With just exhuast and dp I kept up we were pretty much dead even if it had been a colder night the extra psi might have given me a car on him.

His car looked heavy alot of goodies on it...

Really why would you even try saying that.

I mean seriously. FD has 255HP, and the RB26DETT has(around)350Hp. And with easy easy bolt ons breaks 425HP like it is nothing. Put that in a car that is lighter than a GTR and has more power, and there is noway with what he said his car has ion it that it could touch it.

Wink

FCdrifter13,

i am not sure that your numbers are correct , i dont think that a stock RB26DETT has 350 HP..... that is 260KW!! infact, i am quite sure that it doesn't!

please feel free to correct me if i am wrong however........

Anyway, Supposedly they were rated at a lower ps rating to keep them legal, but in fact had more than that if taken to a dyno. I don't know considering the fact that I've never even seen a Skyline in person. Also, you have to account for the differences in dyno's. Every dyno, unless programmed the exact same, will read a different number. I don't really care if it has 325 or 250. If the guy can't drive then he'll lose with a vastly large power to weight difference. I've seen a 12 second car run high 13's because the driver couldn't drive. Just keep all that in mind.
