Yeah it looks like he wasnt able to manage the weight properly. His line looked pretty neutral from what I saw in the video. He probably tried to follow your line (which i found impressive) once he was behind you and lost it
.
Looks fun, I get invited to go to these events all the time, but I have yet to get my car running properly yet. Im not use to high speed courses like this, my main concern is braking. Your brakes are hella loud hehe. SQUEEEEEE!

There's a section of "S's" or chiquanes and you see the GTR steering all over the track, meanwhile you just barely moved the while almost driving straight down the middle. All though power in the world won't make up for bad lines.
I got to ride shotgun in a 260 whp fd and a C5 zo6 at Sebring....quite an experience indeed. Hope to have my car ready in the next year or so.
Thanks for the video! Man, I miss that track. Last few times I was there we ran the same config in the same direction. Fun times!
Looked to me like the GT-R guy is new to driving on track and ripe for instruction...

That was a really fun video, after he passed the S2000 and hauled *** on the straight I found myself wondering how the hell you were gonna pass him... but in the end, you caught up to him, so nice job.
It would be fun to see the same video with you car properly setup for 2x the boost pressure...
Nice video regardless.

Nice video, gotta love seeing the mighty GTR getting the smack down! When they're driven by experienced drivers they're a force to be reckoned with haha.
I found myself stuck behind a GTR on track. I didn't want to ride him too close because he was extremely unpredictable, by the end of the session there was a line of cars behind me haha...I had a little chat with him after this session about point by's.....I should have talked to his instructor as well, they're equally to blame.

Yea, looks like you were going for a nice cruise around the track once you got behind the GTR.. At least the guy in front me let me pass after tailing him for a lap.
How have your brake ducts been working out for you? I've had zero brake issues so far with my setup. =)

SICK! RX-7 FTW! I love the GTR but the driver sucks. This vid shows what happens when you take away the straights. Best Motoring had the MCR GTR vs RE Amemiya Rx-7 on the curvy touge, same result even with better drivers. But I don't see the Rx-7 beating the GTR on the Nurburgring without a 3 rotor. But you did a good job man. This is why I love my 7!

what kind of brake setup do you have? (edit nm, it's in the first post)I wish I filmed the next session after chatting with that GTR owner, I had no problem whatsoever getting around him after that lol.
Ah alright, thought you were making a carbon fiber ducts for you front brakes.. guess I confused you with one else.
Yea even the small amount of rear aero I have on my FD helped me shave off a few seconds. The rear feels much more stable during high speed cornering. So a definite must do.

Trainwreck,
How's the DTC60s? I just switched from HPS to HP Plus. This is my first season tracking my FD, I am on 255/40-17 NT-01s. I ran the Speedventure AAA Speedway couple weekends ago. Started in beginner group (they had a special price) then went to blue then black. In blue group I felt very easy, in the black I can keep up with half the cars. I still need to work on trail braking to get better lines around corners. I did passed couple GT-Rs but I think they were pretty new drivers at the track. In the black group I was keeping up with E92 M3s but I think that's because of R comp tires. M3s were slipping in the corners and during left turns I was staring at his driver side door watching him counter steer.

US MR2 guy's do the same thing especially the MK1.5 guy's. this is one of the best "cheap" cars beating on a super high dollar car
skip to about a min in and there is another video of mk1.5 beating up a z06. this why i love the MR2 and RX~7 for a small amount of money you have a supercar killer!
