well good luck, just race... you still own a way higher potential 7, compaired to his honda... no matter how many bolt-ons he throws on it... its still a honda

b16, b18.... doesnt matter 4 pistons vtak

I was thinking a coupe can weigh less than 2000 pounds? Even 2 door cf parts won't get you even close to that far unless you completly gut the interior, those things were heavy as hell stock.

i think you would lose because:
A. that looks like a b18c5, not a c1. BIG difference in performance (c1=160hp, c5=200).
B. that car comes stock under 2300 lbs. i think 1800 lbs is an exageration, but 2000-2100 is do-able, making the power/weight ration ridiculus.

your fucked, my money is on the civic

I agree with anyone who says you will beat him. I have raced countless GSR swapped Civic hatches and coupes and even sedans and they don't come close to an FD with bolt ons... Pretty sad to tell you the truth. From a dig it's easy and from a roll it's cake! With your mods you should walk him

i cant find the exact curb weight on the 99-00 si but
http://www.edmunds.com/used/2000/hon...256/specs.html
edmunds say its 2601 lbs and thats the lowest ive seen. under 2300 is an exaggeration..and under 2k..its straight bullshit
even if it was a b18c5, it aint like its something fast
a real deal integra type-r weights either the same or a bit less and they run 14 seconds stock. unless your fd is really havin issues..i wounldnt worry bout it.

dont forget a b18c5 the motor has 130lbs of torque...
be very afraid

man how many of us really checked the weight of the car? none... ok, well its NOT a b18c5, it has to be a c1, unless your friend is a retard... FYI the type r valve cover (b18c5) fits on all b-series vtec engines, which im pretty sure is what he did... if he doesnt know what he has, hes an idiot... that would be the equivalent of a guy having a mustang gt and not knowing if its a v6 or v8... so if that guys car is fully built, yea it should put out some nice power... but the car weighs 2612 lbs, and even if it is fully gutted, like i said before, theres no way in hell that thing will weigh 18-1900 lbs... unless he was driving a shell with a motor, coupes are also heavier, id say i t weighs 2300 at the least... you should be a little more intimidated by hatchbacks... with b18's and b16's and b20's... **** what you shoul really worry about is if someone rolls up on you with an h22a, in any honda that would be quick, coupe or hatch... the h22 is around 190-220 hp and around 160-175 lbs of torque... man just race him, dont worry, he may get you off the start but you should pull in your topend... im sure you got the win, from a stop or rolling... race and win, then post the story... like mazrx7fd said, sevens dont fear civics... (well most of em lol) and from what im reading franklin im guessing you dont know too much about cars yet... just keep postin and learn about whats out there on the streets, play some gran turismo 4 and youll learn fast lol (i didnt do that btw) but yea just keep posted and checking out mags and anything else you can to learn about the competition... well good luck man and dont worry...

I forgot I raced a full bolton H22a swapped 94 ish prelude, and man that thing is quick, however, I was only putting down 265 ish rhp, and I pulled on him about 3-4 cars no problem on top of 4th gear. But that damn thing has some tq and it pulls hard like no other Honda though. Like mazrx7fd says, sevens dont fear any hondas. Thats the fact.

Honda's having torque, that makes me giggle.

But anyhow, just go race him. Whats the worst that can happen? You lose to a better driver or faster car?

been there done that....i got money that all he did was change the stock b16 black valve cover to a red itr/ctr valve cover then claiming all this bs that the motor is fully built and it weights 1800-1900 pounds
they upgrade the gsr IM to a single stage like the ITR and the Civic si over the GSR dual stage IM. he could've swapped a b16 head on that block since it flows marginally better than gsr head. anyway that car could be gutted but i doubt he dropped 600-700 lbs. yoshimitsu runs 14.0's with his stock ITR motor in a DC2 teggy and mild weight reduction. it only makes 165whp. Now he is into the 13's though with a few more mods. so if they dropped that civic down to 2300 lbs and he has 200+whp in ideal conditions he could be running a 13.8.

we dont know its an si. it could be a dx model (2359 lbs) wich could be dropped to 2200 pretty easily (granted the motor swap ads a little weight itself). and if it IS built to 200whp, which is really not that hard with a gsr motor, then he will most likely win.

that clearly looks like an Si model unless he pulled the motor painted the the bay and the entire car electron blue pearl. besides..the only difference between Si model and the dx models were power windows moonroof, maybe an option of A/c,and obviously the different motors.
i say f*** the honda and make him realize he bought the wrong car for the wrong reasons.
