FC vs RX-8, stupid IC pipes...

I was driving around with my friend last night, hitting 1.0 bar boost along the freeway(it was empty) and my car felt fine.

Today, an RX-8 with a CF hood, but no exhaust came up on me and started to pull away, I felt that my car was a little sluggish and it didn't hit boost quickly . So i set my boost controller to 1.1bar. Then i slowly caught up, and boosted in 5th gear, he was pulling a bit and i only hit .7 by then, so i shifted down to 4th gear.

and my car still didn't feel right. I hear my boost controller beeping, hitting 1.1 bar mark, and i checked my gauge. Sure enough, it hit max boost. I shifted to 5th and the same thing would happen, but it feels like my stock turbo....

afterwards I took an exit and i felt my car trying to stumble. Right after I turned, my car stalled and i realized I have a FAT vaccum leak...

I realized that a IC pipe came loose (and i have a T-bolt clamp on there too ) and the pipe came out easily! I was so disappointed with my car and now i am sharing my defeat with u guys....

Damn that used to happen to me all the time.. That's why I always carry a 1/4" socket screwdriver with me, and once every week or so I make sure my clamps are tight.

Maybe you will cross paths again

the bad thing was, i knew it was gonna happen so i used T-bolt clamps....
but then it was the T-bolt clamp that failed...(maybe i didn't tight it enough though)

anyways, i guess lesson learned (third time actually.... while racing.... the first was on the track, with a neon SRT-4 )

so, here goes Samco silicone couplers!

(and i thought my other friend who sat in my car was making it slow.... he was kinda chubby =D)

I bet that RX-8 was NA. LOL How much power are you putting to the ground with that GReddy slug? I've always wanted a TD-06 20G.

The last dyno, at 6800 rpm .9 bars was 350rwhp

since then, some minor mods, and such, and i raised the boost to 1.1bars...

yeah, i retightened my T-bolt clamps today, and i'll change my couplings along with it...(it is getting old anyways)
