I beat a evo from a dig... at the track
i over came the lock out by placing the shifter into 3rd gear

I really dont understand why people that blame the car for missing a gear, i could probably count on just my hands how many times ive missed third when racing(if i could remember) and ive had the car 4 years. I run stock engine mounts stock trans mounts and stock shifter(sloppy) with a act 6 puck unsprung along with stock suspension(eibach springs) and stock bushings and still blame myself if i missed. I really dont have a bit more i just had 475rwhp worth of engine mods and $20 used et streets lol. Give the guy props on the street im worth less for traction would like to see a rematch.
He had a good jump but it seemed as though he freaked out even more after he missed... Usually my 3rd does damage and when its clean there's no chance in catching me. Roll or no roll, he had slicks and the start was pretty decent considering the temps. I would like to see a rematch though...

All things considered equal, looks like the FD would have lost anyway.
Because FD got the break and a head start and evo reeled him in QUICK.
Looks like a handicap race to me. That evo is fast as ****.

Bah whatever... So the FD got stuck on third, that EVO was coming FAST and reeling it in. IMo they should run again from an EVEN dig and see if the FD will ever catch up on the higher speeds.
This handicappped stuff is BS. Why hold a car back in the exact point that it shines? Makes no nense to me.

being the owner of an awd car and an fd...wana race in all fairness. start from zero and run til the car stops pullin. Is anyone gonna do that, prolly not. I race my vr4 (awd) 1/2 mile or 1 mile. if you don't catch me, comin or not, you loose. the fd...1/2 mile or more depending on who your racing. no one tells you to put weights into the 7 to make it fair, dont take away the plus on a car.
lol, you give up your top end turbo and the evo gives up awd....go!

In crandall texas i do remember once a really nice blue fd was racing a supra and that supra sounded soo mean but when the lights went the fd pulled a huge gap but unfortunately blew the motor in less than 5 seconds it would of beat the supra so bad too i was really disappointed in the end....
these cars are both locals to my erea and we gether on sunday night in the wee hours. the evo is noo joke he sitting on a fully built 600+ setup with street cheater tire the rx7 is a stock motor but has a turbo kit added on top on street tires. he holds his own but he's still a underdog out there. if he had a good tire and maby WI maby hell get some better finishes.
so far theres only one RWD car that has beat that evo and it was a mustang coming from the dig with a 250 shot and he bairly made it.. i would hav to guess that rx7 could get a 4 car lead and may have a chance

Agreed the Rx7 was just outmatched. Thats one mean Evo. AWD/RWD, head start, weight, etc none of that really matters at this point. The Evo is just on a different spectrum. Thats one nice rx7 tho. Love the sound.
