NO WAY! there is NO WAY, NO WAY an srt4 is gonna walk a t88 rx7 that hard. He had to be pushing 600hp in that setup, probably close 700 on race gas with 22 psi. Thats not a t-88, there is neon is gonna walk a t-88 rx7 period, but not that hard.

If thats the white FD vs neon video... I just couldnt figure out what the deal was, If it really had 521whp it would be in the 10s at least right? It just didnt seem right... Here on base I dont have sound, but by the looks of it, it wasnt up to par.

 

agreed but why would the rx7 owner lie about his setup? i mean its the obvious that with his setup, that car should be in the 10s no doubt..either he lied about his setup, he cant drive (but how hard is it to do a highway run?) or the srt4 is just a flat out faster car..

does that FD owner post here? i mean we can ask him..lol idk

but for now, all we have is the vid and in the vid shows the FD get beaten, we'll just look like sissies trying to find an excuse onto why the FD lost..and if we do that, we're no better than the guys over on the srt4 forums which they do often..

 

the fd owner says he just bought the car. his friend says the thing is dumping oil out of the intercooler pipe. i doubt the thing is running correctly and the person knows how to drive a fast car.

 

I am not sure why eveyone on this forum thinks that the rotary is unbeatable. I mean its a nice powerplant but it by no means just walks all competitors. Most of the time we are racing unmodded cars and mildly modded ones. If any other car owner buys 10 grand worth of stuff like most of us do then they have a really good chance of kicking are ***. We have to race most evenly modded cars from a roll because they would destroy us from a complete stop. So don't think that just because its a neon their is no way it could bet a 7 with a t-88.

 

I agree with you 100% on the first point. If anything our limitations are quite real and well below the potential of say a built 2JZ or a lot of V8s.
That said, how much hp can the ecotec make? I doubt that they can make over 500 on stock botom end, can they? even if they can, from a stop they will spin until 3rd or so...so I am going to have to disagree with you on the "we have to race from a roll"(unless youre a srt-4 driver then youre right and nevermind).
In the end the deciding factor is who can afford to go faster, period!

After all that, i still have to say on a roll a t88 rotary running race gas and high boost is pretty much way the hell out of the reach of a stock turbo on any car.

lol Im on Dallasimports. Yeah, from what I know, his car isnt running right and isnt properly tuned either. He hasnt dynod and hit the 500 mark yet. So I dont know.

The SRT4 has a T3/T4 .50 trim w/ all the supporting mods for it. Damn quick. There are more videos of it to be seen, beating Vipers, modded Z06s, supras, etc. lol and then theres a video of him getting murdered by an insane Trans Am.

Either way, both owners of the cars are humble cool guys. No douche bag attitude out of them.

You can have a t-88 all you want if the setup is not built around it you will not get good results. What good is a t-88 on the street and full boost at 5.5k. Not much. Guys with smaller turbos would hand you your ***. And I think you are getting a street driven car mixed up with a all out drag car. Not many high 9's 2 rotor rx7's rolling around the highways.

 

Well, maybe not many, but there definetely are some out there. If you know how to drive the car, full boost at 5.5K or not, you can beat cars with smaller turbos. That race, if both cars were true, should not have been close for the neon. That said, anyone can lose anyday, anyhow.

i dont think many people dont know there is always something faster. i know it seems like everyone is making excuses for the fd but the mods just dont seem to go along with the race results. if somebody with a stock fd was claming beating a srt with big turbo and race gas i would call bs too.

 

Why is everyone so damned skeptical.

true. unless you have unlimited amount of money to keep spending on your car there will always be someone there faster than you. And when the time comes will you be ready! or will you come up with some excuse.
However 20B will have people bowing down & kissing your feet.

wow umm small world I guess. I am the guy that did the video. Its my friends car. He just got it not too long ago. It was brian's old car from this site. It is a t88 but, brian really neglected the car. We have since found that his wiring harness has been eaten through and he isint getting the right voltage and fouling plugs. The car will be sorted out at rotary next week and will be re put on the dyno to make sure they fix it.

On 21psi its supposed to be making 512rwhp and should be all over a high 10 I would think with a good driver. It feels like its making about 100hp less. Chris's srt is a very fast street car and he knows how to drive. I bet he is in the 430hp range himself.

The srt4 won fair and square...it wasent his fault the rx7 wasent running right...hell we didnt even know it. Things will be sorted out and expect a re race sometime I am sure.

 

20B's are sick, but there was a thread a few weeks ago about "how much power is too much" or something like that, and RedRX-7 chimed in saying how he can't go WOT because his tires won't put down the power. bowing down and kissing your feet because you have the potential to have the biggest set of cohones (sp?) on the block, but if you can't put the power down (i'm waiting for JimLab to chime in with RaceLogic), then someone that can will pull on you until you can hook up.

 

Is that the black neon that belongs to chris the guy that lives in arlington and works at mcdonalds? if so he's about to upgrade to a bigger turbo in about the next 2 weeks. he's already puttin 500 to the wheels.............i hate neons
