Man, it must suck moving from a small town to a big town if 1 car makes you feel like ****...

Its not that depressing, but i understand how you feel. Thats why you have to go to school, make good grades, get a high paying job, buy 1 of every rx7 and 8, and have 1 9 sec rx7 so that when you go back to your town or whatever you can show everyone up. Cars are a way of life for me, but every time i get beat, it motivates me like crazy to make my car faster. And sometimes that means getting better grades or working more. Dont get depressed, use it as a motivation.

I hate when some kids just can go to theyr dady and go like I want that and I want it now and then the parents go and get it for them if I would have sead something like that to my parents my dad would have go like good you want it eather earn the money and buy it or forget about it.

If he truly doesn't know what he's doing with the FD, wait for him to blow the motor and then offer to buy it for pennies on the dollar.

I look a lot younger than I am. I wonder what people think about me when they see me driving a car that I paid for? Oh wait, nvm. I think the middle fingers I get from random people explain it all. Jealousy is a bitch, and I don't think it's fun to be on either side of it.

Go in the forsale section, pick up a $50 used Midpipe, and give it to the
kid with the FD, as a gift. And make sure you tell him it will give him
50+ HP with that simple bolt on and it will make his turbos boost real high.

haha

For the record. I bought my 1st car with my own money at age 18. I paid 1500 bucks for a Porsche 914, and I didn't get eggy any of the times I saw a 911 on the road. I was just stoked to be driving to work instead of skating.

Also, There's more than one way to make an FC perform better than an FD, IMO. Put a 3 rotor in there and SMOKE that spoiled little maggot. Plus, I think they look prett sick in their own way. They may not have "the WTF was that" factor that the FD gets, but there's no arguing that FCs are nice, cool looking cars with a ton of potential.

Yeah, I've been buying all my cars with my own money since I was 15...It's a good feeling to know you've earned your treat, I think most members or at least Natey would agree with me on that one.

Give me enough money and I could build a Metro that makes an Enzo look silly on the track.

The FC does have it's own nice look, I like how all gens of the 7 were completely restyled and look nothing alike. It's a good, defining part of our cars. Unlike the 3KGT which is almost identical through all 3 gens, out cars are much more unique, each gen having something different that makes it better(SA/FB are nice, light weight and reliable, FC is nice and roomy for us American fatasses, and FD is self explanitory)

Though with an FC you may not get the "What the hell was what?!" factor, you do get the "Wow, nice porsche! Is that a 924??"

haahah yeah, I've gotten that on a few occasions. =) It's great fun though, esp when there's a few 924's around the corner which don't stand a chance against the T2.

I guess I used the wrong word when I said "associate". What I mean't was that if I see an FD at a meet I won't be like WTF and go talk to the guy (or girl), same with if I see one on the road or parked in someone's driveway. Vs. an FB or an FC that I would go crazy over. Thing with the older cars is that you can usually tell if the persons a ricer or not by how the car looks (ricer mods/vs. restoration), whereas the FDs naturally look great since they're not as old and the styling is more modern.

Btw...about the 3000GT comment (kinda random ) they didn't change it because it looks so DAYUM good They simply made small changes to make the car look newer and it got better everytime.

Yeah it does look good, it's a solid chasis and all...but ****, does it really have to weigh 4,000lbs?

I've seen a "new" S4 N/A buzzing around these roads lately...I need to find the bugger, only time I've seen it parked was at a bar at like 12:30, and since I'm underaged I wasn't about to try and pull that one off I need to catch him getting gas or something...

But yea, there's only one other FD in my area and I've been best friends with the owner for about 3 years now I also convinced him to buy the FD.

I met a guy who lives near me from the forum who has a nice TII and a Vert too, but that's neither here nor there.

I know what you mean about not really talking to FD owners, most don't know what they have...but you could be missing out :

^^ Hahaha. I don't think he meant anything personal by it...

The reason the 3000GT was kinda random was because I had a Stealth R/T NA before this car lol. Its not exactly the best auto x/ road race platform but you shouldn't care about weight when you run mid 13s bone stock and have a button that controls your exhaust pitch and a badass wing that raises when you reach 60(?)mph

since when did 3/S's come with automatic spoilers? also mid 13s stock..on a 4,000lb car with 330hp...vs mid 13s stock on a 2800lb car with 255hp some things make a huge difference...

The R/T is that the DOHC or SOHC? I'm not good with 3/S's.

lol i remember one time that i got to my buddy's house and his dad told me " damn, nice car, is that a 6 cylinder" i felt so good when i told him" no it's not a 6 cylinder is a rotary " i felt like i was the only one around with a different type of car lol. also when you go to a place with your FC people look at it with a face of wth is this but they always say that is a cool car. i got to the track one time and there was like 6 people around my car, and my car is stock just with lowering springs and polished TII 2 rims. i like the attention this little cars get.

Yes the first gen 3000GTs come with a spoiler called "Active Aero" that lifts up/down. Sure the FC is a better performing car but its easier to get a 3/S into the 11s (simple turbo upgrade) vs. an FC since the stock block on 3/S's holds over 600whp. Not to mention the exotic looks and the luxury options that they came with (that some people value).

Of course they break so much that they're really equivalent to cars that cost much more, like a 7000 TT/VR4 will need just that in repairs if you expect it to be reliable (FD FTW). Even after that I still wouldn't trust it, I've seen people spin bearings AFTER they've rebuilt them. Not to mention the T case eating/synchros/timing component faliures/preventive maintanence require up the ***. Interesting cars, not a worthy project.

The R/T is the sporty NA model, it comes with the 222hp DOHC motor. I guess I have the luxury package due to the digital climate control/heated mirrors/electric seats (bolsters/back part) etc. POS is sitting at my friend's house with a blown differential Waiting to be sold.

blaaaaaaaahahahha....yeahhhhh...

I love the exotic look, but luxuries mean little to me, so that's why I'm with the FD over the FC or 3kGT.

I also did look in to a 3kGT VR4 that was for sale in my area, but after looking at their maintnence schedule, I realized just how incredibly reliable an FD is.

instead of whining, what you need to do is start collecting the engine parts you need to build a 500hp rotary engine. start PLANNING the engine and slowly buy the parts you will need. buy the parts as you can afford them. buy a couple apex seals before they go up in price again.

read all you can about engines and their add-ons like turbos (books included).

after you have everything you need, buy the car you want to put it in and get it ready for the engine. assemble the engine and install it in the car. it may take longer this way but you will have something you can be proud of.

volunteer at a rotary shop if you can to learn all you can. someone let me volunteer.

think of things you might be able to fabricate so you don't have to spend big bucks. you can start fabricating some of the parts you will need. you can fabricate a blow off valve from an old head off a v-8 just cut out the valve and seat from the head and weld up the rest. there are lots of things you can get make yourself. Read, read, read and i don't mean just this website.

start going to junkyards and collect things that you need.

now get off you butt and start the planning.

stop the whining.

no whining is allowed in the rotary community.

Build a fast FB and pwn his ****, it'll cost less, weigh less and make a statement, I know I have two....

Why does everyone asume the rich kid doesn't appreciate his FD, maybe he could have bought a Z06 but actually wanted an FD, its not like they're a $100K car guys, anyone could buy one now. Who know maybe he's got skills also.

Thats actually true. Anyone will act idiotic if they get a sports car as their first car, new or old. If I had gotten a G35 instead of a POS Stealth I would've acted the same way (reckless/retarded) when I first got it and been looked at as the rich bitch even though I actually am into cars, just very lucky to be born in such an environment. So don't assume things about the kid. Although the revving was a bit much...

Not like you'd turn down a free FD from your parents and buy a 2000 dollar FC/FB with your own money. Well eh, most likely anyway if you don't mind them taking it away a few times when you're bad Worth it to some people, but I know I'd respect person A more with a built FC that worked for it than person B with a faster built FD that didn't.

How come I have 2 FDs and I'm still depressed???
(oh, that's right both of them are a little screwed up and I'm an alcoholic)

Seriously, what makes you "cool" is not what you drive, but how you act. There are MANY people with FDs that are the biggest nerds in the world. I don't know why the car attracts so many weirdos. And I know some people with regular cars that I think are cool as **** and I really look up to them. A guy can pull up in an FD, and in 2 minutes of people can find out what a moron he is. Then they'll just hate him more for having the car, plus it makes the FD look bad.
