Dealing with Depression...

I know this is probably not the best place to post this but I am gonna tell u why I am dealing with depression right now (and for the past 2 weeks). I graduated last year from High school and back in those days I was known as the kid with the Rx7s and rotary cars (cause of my dad) in this town, well my dad had a 94fd, I have a 90 GTU, we have an 84 fb and a 73 corolla rotary. well we had to sell the fd for financial problems and that bombed me but thats not the reason why I am depressed the reason is because my friend called two weeks ago (he still goes to high school) and told me there is a crazy new car in school that is calling him out (he drives a 5.0 mustang) so he wanted me to c the car first to tell him if he should race him or not, well guess what the car is.....a F*&%$n RX7, yes its a red fd in perfect condition, from what I heard the driver is a little rich junior that went to c fast and the furious and asked his dad for an rx7. I told my friend he should be able to take him cause the fd is stock and that 5.0 its pretty beaffy (cause he kept up with my dads and my dads was modded). The thing is that everyone that Ive seen has told me about the rx7 and they always tell me: man doesnt it suck how u had like the coolest car in town sold it and now some 16 year old kid has one, and I was cool about it till this morning when I was driving through town to get some food before going to school (college) and he got right next to my GTU (I bet he doesnt even know that my car its an rx7 too) and started reving his engine, If it was another car I would have reved back but I got so sick to my stomack there that I just drove away knowing that he could have killed me even if he cant drive for crap. Well thats my story u guys probably think this is really stupid like my girlfriend thinks but I dont know why its actually a big deal to me...

The really depressing part is that the 16 year old kid is probably going to end up wrecking the FD.

Rx Seven 10-12-06 11:19 AM

^ agreed

niburu 10-12-06 11:28 AM

your girlfriend is right

RxRolla 10-12-06 11:41 AM

I know I was telling my friend that, and he is always redlining it and he treats it like a piston engine, he doesnt know about the constant oil check either.

If acceleration is all you care about then you shouldn't be driving a 90 GTU...

what?

Depressed? Wow you must be in a really small town or something. Who cares what punk ownes what... there's always someone with something better. That's life and you better get used to it. If your self-esteem or self worth is tied to what car you drive you better prepare yourself for an entire life of being disappointed. They are all just cars, just things that all break down as soon as they are built. Nothing last forever. I say figure out what's really important in life.

If you were just driving an rx-7 to be the "cool" guy, then you're missing the point. I have 2 rx7s because I love to drive them, not because I have something to prove. Who cares what people think. I'd be concerned what your girlfriend thinks... if she cares about you, and didn't dump you for the 16 year old, then you have nothing to complain about.

Your girlfriend is 100% right. Count your blessings.

Oh God. My condolences Montego, truly.

I am really sorry about your mother and when I talked about being depressed It was just a sarcastic way to show how much it sucked for me, didnt mean it to offend anyone. And about the rx7's, I have never owned anything that wasnt a rotary I love to drive them too and everything in my family revolves around them, the reason why I brought this up was because right now I dont have enough money to get an fd like that and it sucks knowing that I had one but sold it, that was it.

Montego 10-12-06 01:22 PM

thanks Sid and RxRolla.

No offense taken actually. Like I said just realize what is important in your life and you will be a happier person. As for me I will be fine. It's the circle of life and though I am not happy about it I understand it.

I removed my original post for obvious reasons.

Any idiot can go out and buy a sports car, that doesn't mean he has as much fun as you would with that same car...What were you trying to prove to the kid with the FD? Why did it make you depressed? When you grow up a little I hope you realize that theres more to a car than how fast it accelerates in a straight line. You probably have more fun with your damn GTU than that kid does with his FD trying to race everything he sees. Sounds like the kid looks at the car as a toy that he can play with since hes done nothing to deserve it and that will come back to bite him in the ass. Personally I don't associate with FD owners because of people like that kid, it really doesn't say much about you if you own an FD just because of how much hype is behind the name, you could be a rotary enthusiast or someone who just got done watching FNF.

btw, montego, I think he misused the word "depression". I don't think that he realizes that its much more serious than just being sad for a while.

RxRolla 10-12-06 01:44 PM

ok, I guess depression wasnt a good word to use, about the strait line acceleration part, to me there isnt really alot more to a car than taking u places, how it looks and acceleration on a strait line, but thats out of the question, I dont know why u brought that up. And I dont wanna talk about this anymore it wasnt supposed to be such a big deal.

you need to look at the things that matter, eternally, not temporaly. you understand that things come and go, they always will, there will always be someone faster, stronger, better looking...etc than you. put your hope in something that will outlast this life, i.e. Jesus, that is where i have found peace, I hope you can find it there, otherwise you will spend your life searching for the next high or modification to be better than the other guy, just like so many people here.

surfmon 10-12-06 02:19 PM

that was the stupidest shit I have ever read

LoneCorp 10-12-06 02:43 PM

sucks to hear, i got some parts for my car from a kid that put a 84 gsl-se in to a wall. like no a joke, a fucking buidling. sucks tho all i try and keep in mind, theres always better, faster, stronger. and all cars can be regained. :wallbash:

surfmon 10-12-06 03:09 PM

sorry, but I got to

If you are shallow enough to get "depressed" over shit like this, then you need to open your eyes and take a look around.
After all, it is only a car. Which should do nothing more than bring you periodic happiness.
You should never live your life based on any material things.
Sure, I like cars, but I do not LIVE for cars.

Live to live and be happy that you are alive

just my thoughts

surfmon 10-12-06 03:11 PM

and the best way to deal with depression(real depression) is drinking,.......... a lot of drinking:)

Montego 10-12-06 04:20 PM

^^ :) and of course some: :titty:

If this is true, you're just a different kind of unappreciative scumbag, but still on the same level as this kid.

Believe it or not, some of us actually love the FD for the rotary. We don't have to drive an understyled, oversized 80s car to love the rotary.

p4nc7 10-12-06 05:25 PM

That shit is horrible...not the fact that ther'es another FD, but the fact that the kid is rich and just gets shit. I hate that....

yeah it really sucks when someone is given something but they don't truely appreciate it.

LOL, uh, thanks?

Why would I have a hard time believing that when I clearly stated in my previous post that some FD owners love them for the rotary and some love them for the hype?
