but the car was actually street driven on a daily base ...
and the guy has the r33 for nearly 4 years i think ... and the r34 maybe a bit over 1 year.

i guess it must depends on your State ... or your "connection" in the car inspection world. cause i know here i have mine so even if my car doesnt pass emissions he signs it has it would be 100% clear !!!
you guys are out of the loop

motorex is out of business and the owner is in jail for stealing cars from japan and selling them in the states, as well as falsifying the emissions conversion b.s. for r32 and r34's that he sold .

rb25/26 and sr20det will never be anything but illegal in the united states; some states care more than others, but have no doubt that it's illegal in all 50.

Who said it worked when he took it off? Mine were completley toast when I got the car and it had 80K miles on it. If you are implying that MINE worked, you must be refering to my thread about passing emmisions. That was a brand new $65 autozone cat, and after trying with the stock system, then an RB system with no cats just for the hell of it to see how bad I would do.

If the cats are still the oem cats and have never been replaced chances are they are near the end of their life and most likely won't pass. If you are in CA your screwed cause you gotta buy expensive OEM cats so you can also pass visual inspection. Instead of being able to buy a cheapo $65 cat that will pass a sniffer with no inspection like I did.

If the state doesn't require visual inspection it doesn't really matter what kind of engine you have if its a pre 1995 vehicle, as long as it passes the sniffer test you're golden.

They may be technically illegal but no ones gonna care if you pass smog in these states.

There's an empty lot right behind my job that's chianed up, the owner was a nice guy but he just doesn't want to be held liable. I told him I would agree to a contract where he isn't liable for antying and if anything is damaged that we would pay. and that there would always be only the four of us.

He hasn't called me back or anything. I'm still scouting for areas here so we'll see how that works out.
