A couple crazy Preludes, a porsche and a mullet.

Since I've had my FD I've pretty much babied it since it needed so much work... but in the past weeks I am closer and closer to being done (yeah, I know, never happen) with it and have felt the urge to stretch it's legs.

Last night I ran across a pretty impressive 4th gen prelude on I-10 heading out of New Orleans. It had Texas plates and was scooting through traffic like I sometimes do. I was running late for work after watching the super bowl with my grandpaw and was in a bit of a hurry.

The guy came around me and I am not so young that I need to be in front all the time so I let him go. Shortly thereafter he pulls along side me and revs his engine. My wife is with me and she is game (she drives a A4 quattro with a 6spd and is very proud of it). He goes first as I had the radio up and missed the horn, he takes off like a bat out of hell! I shift to 3rd and second turbo comes online fast and begin to reel him in, I'm at 7k so I shift and here's 4th (my car loves 4th) and it was over in about 1 second. I slow down and let him go.

Here he comes again, my wife asks me what for, I don't know, I say and we go again, this time in 3rd on cue with the horn and it's over before it starts.

A few weeks ago I met some guys at sonic boom that were also from slidell and had a 3rd gen prelude with an integra engine swap with a big fat turbo. similar runs. he had some impressive gettyup but was killed within seconds. Props to that lude tho, was faster than I thought it would be...

Thursday I went to visit my dad who I never seem to see, he loves cars and thus my car and loves to see what it will do, well on the way to the movies on I-10 outside Gulfport MS we're crusing at about 80 and a 911 pulls up along sode with a guy and a girl in it. the guy revs his engine and takes off, I am perplexed for about .0000008 seconds as I decide whether or not to race someone with my dad in the car... Hell I'm 31 yrs old and figure screw it. I hit 3rd for a sec then 4th, reeling him in, 125 mph shift to 5th, then shortly thereafter he's gone... my dad looks over and says ****! we're doing 140? Wow! I smile just thinking about the guy with the 100K porsche who just lost to a 13 yr old car with 2 men in it while his gf watched... My dad is still talking about this... and the fact we went about 170 mph on the way home after the movie... We wanted to see what the car would do but soon came up on traffic.

The other day while on the way to work I was trying to merge onto the Interstate and a Mullet Mobile (~99 Camaro SS) won't yeild and is the only car on the road and is sitting in the right lane as my on ramp comes to an end.... so I simply just floor it and poof, I'm gone. I'm in no hurry so I slow back down to about 80 and he quickly passes me in the left lane. and he sits there... soon a car comes up in my lane and I want to pass it so I tap the brakes, and get behind the SS Mullet.
As soon as we pass the car and I could pass him, he floors it, black smoke everywhere, so instead of going around him, I just pull right up on his bumper as he's WOT and then let off and doi it again just to let him know I'm here when I want to be. We're doing about 100-110 now, he floors it again, I shift to 4th and effortlessly glide past him... and I used to think those were fast...

Not to great of kills, but all were fun at the time.

It's funny to me how much attention this car draws... It's rare to be at a gas station when someone doesn't come up and ask about the FD. Even today while grabbing lunch, the people in the booth behind me were all discussing my car as they couldn't decide on what it was, a vette or a viper, it was funny. (Yes they were rednecks) The Efini badge kit was worth every penny for this alone.
