nice kill, but I'm guessing he let off once on the highway....I don't see you "accelerating away" unless he did, when the RWHP is about the same and the weight difference doen't help much at all above 70 mph or so....it's all hp and aerodynamics at that point (plus the C6 is fairly light to begin with)

 

NICE, i hate corvette owners, they think they have such a special car... especially the new C6. it's just a chevy. I drove on and also an 04 GTO, i'd take the GTO anyday. I drive a Silverado that's nice but the attitude of the corvette drivers at autocrosses sucks 9 out of 10 times.

yah i read in a road and track mag. the other day that the C6 Zo6 ( dont know if the normal c6 is the same weight) that it weighs like 3180 lbs. or around there. thats pretty light for a muscle car. correct me if im wrong.

 

it is pretty light, but that is about 500 pounds heavier than most modded (catless) FDs. Mine weighed in at 2650 with a quarter tank of gas.

People wouldn't hate on corvette so much if it wasn't abused as THE mid-life crisis car to have. FYI, you do know that they're both GM, right? Same powerplant?

I totally agree, it's his car and he can drive it anyway he wants to. Everyone should understand, driving 100+mph and drinking something is just plain *** stupid. They're still other drivers out on the road and while drinking and not concentrating on the road can cause a huge stupid accident.
I street race all the time, but at least I try to be safe about it!!! Also, the story sounds kinda made up, I think! James

 

I wouldnt be so quick to hate on corvettes. the new c6 is an amazing car to say the least.
and to say you would take a 04 gto over an 05 c6 is just plain crazy
