98 tiburon vs 01 mustang

one of my buddies parents baught him a 2001 mustang V6 auto. he was talking **** since day one about how his stang can beat my tib. we're both highschool students so we cant afford mods yet. all i had on my tib was a intake (warm air cuz im cheap), new plugs that i changed that day, running on 94 oct. i finally take him on his offer to race him, thinking id get dusted. we cruse until we hit a light. i didnt spin my tires cuz i had put on brand new all seasons that month but he did a lil bit of a burn out. off the start he had a car legnth lead. when i was changing to third, i was already caught up with him, by fourth i had already had him by a car legnth. up ahead was a red so we started to slow down. bottom line, i totally shut him up with my 2.0L 4 cyl. the funny thing is that later that week, he also raced a neon bone stock 5 spd. and lost. since that race, i have lost total respect for mustangs

Don't let a V6 mustang make you disrespect Cobras, GT's, or any modified Mustang. There are plenty of mustangs that will hand you your butt on a silver platter.

It's just a v6 mustang.....i don't think you should have respect for any v6 mustang. Only the new ones are some what fast for being a boat with a v6, i think they run in the low 15's while the older v6 mustangs do 16's and 17's in the quarter mile.

Even the newest V6 stangs would be lucky to break into the 15's but that is pushing it, maybe if it was a 5sp but a v6 auto no way. We should just pretend the v6 stang does not exist becuase it shouldn' be classifed as any kind of a sports car.

The new 05 V6 mustangs are rated at 15.3 quarter mile just to let you know ecyrb, and the autos aren't very slow for being automatic. They shift pretty damn fast with the 5 speed automatic. Almost all automatics are 4 speeds but the new 05 stang has a 5 speed and a good deal of tq and hp coming out of the v6 motor. 210 hp and 240 tq i do beleive....I'm only defending it because my gf just got one and i was shocked as to how nice it really is. The new suspension design is amazing, i cruise around in my car on curvey roads with her following(25 and 15 mph corners) doing about 50 or 60 and sometimes i get worried that shes not going to slow down enough in her car to take the corner but she is always right there on my bumper.

definately not all stangs i lost respect for, i love elinore (i hope im spelling it right) from gone in 60 seconds. i got a warm place in my heart for muscle cars. but i mean mustangs have such a good rep for being a strong car, but my hyundai beat it. i love the engines, my buddy has a V8 stang with a saleen body kit on it, never told me the mods he has but he must have quite a few. the car glues you to your seat, i loved it. but i dislike the bodies, heavy and u really cant do anything to the look. if u give it an import look, it just looks really wierd. u can get a cobra or saleen body kit but those are common. also u cant do anything with the lighting because mustangs have a distinct tail light. my friend put some azetta tail lights, and it looks awful.
