93TT kills C5/SS/350Z/Evo/COP/Cobra...

Ive had the car a year and I love to drive it through the twisties, but in late Aug I got hooked on lineing up and running side by side. Here is my list of kills to date...

'04 350Z w/ light mods *I was bone stock*
He got me off the line (I smoked them up) there was no predetermined finish line, so I ran him down and passed at 135. He had pushed so hard, when we stopped; he was tapping a bit. 350Z really is a Beautiful car.

Then I modified Intake, exhaust (no cats), PFC big stock mount IC 310whp

'03 Vette and '98ish Z28 (LS1?)
I was supposed to race the Z28, Drag Style, Line up on a two lane highway, mid-night, get flagged and run to the 1/4mi.. marked by a car on the side. I was excited to do my first V8, and he was ready to give a lesson in displacement! we lined up when it was all clear, me in the left, the Z28 in the right. We had been followed to the spot by many of his friends from the V8 side of the parking lot. They were on an overpass above the start line.
Just as we took our spots, the Vette arrogantly lined up in the 300yard long on-ramp lane at the far right, with the intention of pulling in front before he ran outa blacktop, why not he was in a Vette
This was only my 3rd race in a turbo powered car, the 2nd of the night.
We were flagged to go! The V8's roared and tires were screaming I instinctively let off the gas. I Bogged!.....BAD! The Z28 pulled 7 or 8 car lengths away, I wanted to get out and push! A guy on the overpass told my friend it was over, laughed and turned to walk. My friend said he better watch, it wasn't over yet. He said again "it is over"
Then I hit 2800rpms! and a full 13lbs of boost! then I hit 8000rpms then I hit 2nd, then 3rd, then 4th! I was closing SO fast, but the finish was coming even faster. Just before the mark, I went by him with a 20mph+ advantage,... and a fender!
I never felt anything like it, I am hooked
BTW...The Vette spun them and then ran out of lane.

I ran a few more cars in the weekends to follow and am yet unbeaten
**Note: all drag style except Sti, that was from the move.
Stealth TT AWD w/ intake exh 15lbs... pulled him bad, he thought I had spray!
EVO VIII w/Intake/Exh/claimed 25lbs He got me by 4+ lengths then i pass him
like grandma! I have a bad vid of this one
WRX Sti Claimed Stock*BS even at highway speeds i could only crawl past him.
FireBird (99 LT1) Intake/ Exh beat 'em bad, got vid of this one too
Maxima 04? Supercharged! 365whp beat 'em by 7 car lengths, got vid from
the finish line, would have been better but in 3rd I blew off my IC!
Cobra "I'll tell you all about it later"
COP " "
MontiCarlo SS plate "WALKIN U" in Orange Co, NY Does any one know this
Guy?

and what is a 93 TT

TT = turbo 2? cause that would be an FC, no FCs past 1992 i beleive

Or am i just not up to speed on my FD terminology(most likely answer)

Your probably right, technically I think it is a 93REW not a 93TT, but 93TT just made sense to me at the time.

You can call it a twinturbo, the names you can call it and expect people to recognize are as follows-

93 FD
93TT
93 13BTT
93 13B-REW

Any of these work..Or you can also go into R1, R2, etc. But yeah. Nice kills! I would LOVE to see the face on a guy with a Vette being spanked by a 12 year old car! Aha!

I noticed that all the cars you raced weighed at least 400lbs more. You have to love the weight advantage.
Personally I have a hard time driving anything that weighs more than 3000lbs. They just feel so fat when compared to the cars I own.
Note: I didn't say they don't handle better, it's just the feel of the car.

I'm just north of orange co. but all the fun has taken place in Middletown and I have seen ZERO 3rd gens around here. My car is nearmint Blk on Blk. I bought it Stock/Mint with 66k. Outside is still 100% stock but I had to lightly mod the engine to keep up with the expectations of the faithful, and to shut down the nonbelievers!
Outside the RX7 circle, I find a lot of people dont know what to expect from our cars, I like to send them home even more confused and very disappointed Killing V8s is the most fun, it messes with there head, it's like telling a bratty kid there's no Santa!

ALNY93R1 I will probably be looking to check out a new spot now and then, there must be something out by you?

Do you do have a safe place to do 1/4s there, or stoplight/stoplight stuff?

Yes those who have seen me there, know I race every time and have not been beat. But I only made it down there at the very end of the season, there are many cars I havent goten to race or see, some talk big crap. Some more V8's I wanna do that are very cocky! One Firebird I must say, sounds very badass, he will only run for $$. What do you have done? Eng/Turbos? whp? 1/4 ET?

Cobra kill!

It was the end of one of these nights of bulling V8's, I was driving my Girlfriend home at 1:00am.
Enough is never enough, and what do I see up ahead, in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere? A white convertible Mustang! I was hoping for a GT. The road was about to split in to two lanes for a few hundred yards on the approach to a stoplight. I moved in for some friendly harassment (engine revving) and suddenly got a healthy dose of adrenaline when i saw the COBRA on the rear bumper! A supercharged V8, this was going to be an opportunity not to be missed!
I pulled up next to him and revved and sneezed to make my intentions clear.
Then I lunged past and in front before my lane turned right. The next mile was a 40pmh zone before more open road. I kept it at 45/50 with a few more sneezes to feed his resolve. We were coming up to the "end speed zone" sign (which i like to take some liberties with when interpreting!) I kept it still at 50mph, premo RPM range for my 2nd turbo, waiting for him to make his move.
Whoooooaaa! This is it, here he goes! Do I be a sport and wait till he is next to me? But then he'll have Torque and momentum! I was fighting to stay off the gas. When I saw his actual headlight in my peripheral vision I mashed the gas. Third gear at 4000rpms is my sweet spot, in two seconds I was pulling like a freight train! we were side by side with him moving forward for just a second, then me inching forward, then a slowly walking forward. A quick shift to 4th at 100 and he tucked in behind me, first on my bumper then slowly 1 car back, then 2 cars back! At 3 cars back, he flashed his lights to let me know he was done!
"Is this really what guys do?" My girlfriend asked. "Some guys" I said, as I watched my rearview mirror for an opportunistic 2nd try, "the rest just play videogames and pretend". The COBRA stayed back for two minuets, then flickered his lights again and turned off the road.
I expect Ill see this guy again sometime this coming summer, he earned another shot anytime he wants.
Jon
