ok my freinds found out i got an RX-7 and they are already challenging me. first off my freind Cody and his 1969 Chevy pickup with a 350 V8 tuned heavely. second is my freind JR TWICE!! first he wants to race me with his R34 GT-R and then his Honda CBR600RR. i mean im still just a stock 1990 Mazda RX-7 GXL with a ******* AUTOMATIC! what should i do. just race and get beat or backdown?

 

it's a slushbox n/a rotary with like 150 hp. You should be racing geo metros and mopeds, not skylines and cbr's

oh and i forgot to mention my freind Mua was thinking about challenging me with his 1992 Saab 900 Hatchback turbo he hasn't done anything to the performance of the car.

race them in reverse....blow your tranny and swap in a 5 speed.

why would you buy an Automatic? unless ur old, missing a left leg, and ur worring about speed, u should of bought at least a 5 speed or a turbo FC. Driving stick just makes the biggest difference.

I know this is an old thread but in case you never raced your friend with a 900, when my 900 was stock I hung dead even (from a roll) with my friends turbo2 FC. Of course I got murdered from a stop. If yours is N/A (can't really tell from the pic) you're going to get raped, especially if you have an automatic.

 

I bought another 83 gsl so i had to race it... so on the way back to my house a dude in a WRX pulled up next to me challenging me at a light .... so i launched at 3500 and went when the light turned he beat me of the line but i was 2 red dots in the distance when i slammed 3 rd , from my house i went to my house to show what i got and i was goin the speed limit when i heard a ricer 98 turbo charged nissan altima slam on it behind me and try to pass me so i put it in 3rd gear and mashed it to the floor...... i was doin 70 by the time i knew it... lmao... laters peeps!

idk i beat a 9000 turbo . and i gotta 87 N/a 5 speed. but just stay in ur league don't gor racing skylines or sum **** u'll just embaress urself u should be tryin to find a crx or an eclipse to race or sumthin unless u gotta t2 if u got an auto prolly go find a metro like that one guy was sayin

 

i know everyone knocks the auto tranny and rightfully so but honestly here in houston the traffic is so bad i actually like the automatic. the torque converter gives it a little more low end power and its perfectly geared for the highway. 3rd is by far the strongest gear. that said id much perfer another 5spd fc...

 

who said any thing about a turbo? turbos are pointless off the line in a rotary.... rx cars are high end... thats why i run a 6-71 roots type supercharger... there umm umm burna... turbos lag.... supercharger there at low rpm up to red line.... they may lag a lil more but more dependable in the long run...
