Sorry guys, but no vid of this one

I was cruising around tonight out of town just looking for a little fun. I pulled into a denny's parking lot to talk to some people just to make conversation and they wanted to see what I had. My car is rather confusing since it is turbo, but doesn't give the image at all(n/a hood and such). One of the guys wanted to rev my car to hear the bypass valve so I just let him rev it a few times to about 4k..... No biggie. There were some people across the parking lot that got all kinds of excited when he did that. I had the boost at stock(5.5#) since I had just been on the highway; so I turned it up to about 8 just for fun.
After turning up the boost, I drove slowly over to the other side of the parking lot to see a mkIII supra and an '04 manual is300. The supra didn't sound like the usual suspect 7mg(t)e so I inquired to the owner what engine it might have. I specifically mentioned the 1jz.
Apparently, it has an auto 1jz swap into it. It was running stock (11'ish) boost and had drag coils on it. other than that, it was full interior.
He I asked him if he wanted to have some fun, and then it was on. First we had a couple of roll-ons that were rather fun. He has more power than me (stock hp being 280's) and we were even till about mid 3rd where he pulled ever so slightly.
Then we decided to go from a dig. I figure I can launch my car pretty well; well enough to launch with boost from first without dropping the clutch.
We hit it off the light and are about dead even till the middle of third, I actually pulled a quarter panell on him, but we pretty much called it even.
Seriously though.......DAMN!!!! I didn't even think to keep up with something like that, but he is fully loaded and those mkIII's weigh roughly4-600# more than a TII. I was very happy to have done as well as I did and called that a night, I was just in shock. We talked for a while after that, checked out each other's rides and went on our merry ways.
I hope this story wasn't too confusing, I tried with the punctuation, but I am not too good at it.

My mods include:
Stock s4 motor 130k miles
s5 intake manifold/turbo/exhaust manifold
custom tid
Turbo xs sbc(set to 8-8.5 for these runs I don't have a fcd)
stock 1988 mx6 intercooler front mounted
koyo racing radiator, custom ghetto mounted to facilitate a fmic.
energy suspension bushings throughout except the dtss bushings(still there)
Get this...... 1.75id ic piping!!
Stock exhaust punched cats.......
I don't think I should have ran that well, but we figure our cars can run a high 13 at the rate we were. Definately not slow, but I am not saying we are very fast either.

For those who know my prior posts... I may not be the smartest when I post, but I really do try to understand and do things right when I mod. I am actually aiming for road racing and within a year or 2 this car will be full race only with cage and then some. (gc coil-over +Koni's on order... already have awr rear camber adjusters and camber plates for front.)

NICE! I've been itchin to race a mk3 supra. there was one guy at the last fresno rx-7 meet, but he told me straight out and said "Imma be a bitch and say no." I actually have the same mods as you, but I have an S5(7.5psi stock) boosting 10psi and I dont have a FMIC. I beat an s2000 from a dig with a very bad exhaust leak by 1-2 cars. I beat a 99+ Mustang GT by 2 cars from a roll 80-115 and he took off first, so lets say 3 cars. I lost to camaro SS with exhaust and other mods unknown by 2-2 1/2 cars but he took off first from a roll 70-115, so it was like 1-2 cars. Just to let you know I downshifted to 4th in the last 2 races because I didnt know that I had plenty of revs in 3rd. So I figured I am probably around high 13-low 14 sec. Well, I think your kinda at my speed too.

Um, I have actually beat an s2k by about 3 bus lengths before on stock boost. I seriously don't know why, but my car is somewhat freakishly fast for what it has really. I don't know, I was only running 8-8.5psi for this race, it was fun though.

You sure he was actually racing? xD An RX7 on (5.5/S4) stock boost should be destroyed by an S2000...

I know, I have heard the same thing before... But you can tell that to my friend in the s2k lol. I didn't expect to win at all when I raced him. but thats the way it went. He is a decent driver also.
