650whp Drag camaro SS, Modded 80's chevy truck

well i guess i'll post these since i havent had a drag race in ages.

so i was bored the other night and went to fill up the vert with gas, since i was already in town i decided to drive around a bit. after driving for about 10 minutes or so i came up on the drag car, i think its like a 68-70 camaro SS with a 454 making 650whp with a 200 shot on top of it; i'd talked to him before; but it was interesting.

at the light waiting for green, started off slow and let me come up beside him, ~20mph in first we both hit it, he started spinning tires and spun through 85% of first (as soon as he hit it from 20mph) i had pulled 1 car by the time 8k came around, we both hit 2nd at the same time, he caught grip and instantly jumped beside me when his tires lost grip again, by 8k in 2nd i was 1.5 cars ahead and slowing for the next light. yes i would've been pissed if i lost to ~200hp mazda if i had a 650whp drag car too. the car runs low-mid 9's to low 10's at the strip, he had shown me his time slips the previous time i talked to him.

well now that that was done, when i raced the drag car some guys had seen me beat him, they had a ~82 chevy truck, dropped nicely (not shitty all the way to the floor nasty *** style looking) maybe 2-3" max. well they decided they wanted to race me after seeing me race the drag car. so we go at it 3-4 times, took them all 3 times by about .5 car length, was a pretty quick truck. after pulling over and talking to them it seemed like a pretty decent truck. they were telling me about the mods but i didnt really know about it much, said something about some high perf internals, performance heads, and an exhaust of some kind, and i think it had a K&N.

well those are my kills of the... well for a long time probably.

sweet good runs man! my friend has a 83 chevy shortbed pick up with a pretty mild 350 in it. probly only makes around 320hp which isnt a whole lot.

on slicks it runs 13.6's at 98mph. thats pretty quick for a truck. sounds like those guys had a ok small block under the hood.

yea from the looks of it it was a small block 350, but im not sure cause he said it was a custom engine.

there is a chevy like that that runs the drags here, does a 12 flat on 98% of its runs, like 12.0 exactly, every single time almost, quick thing.

i dont know about the vert, with its mods it should be putting down ~200 hp to the flywheel, meaning it should be in the 15.2-15.6 range at least. not quick, but its not a drag car either lol
