325i vs. 88 n/a

I was 'cruisin the drag' with my friend in his 1990 325i bmw with a knn intake. Usually i would be driving next to him in my rex but it's getting rebuilt by kevin Landers next week. But anyways a few days ago i had raced an 88 rx7 se (just like mine) in my 300zx n/a and he beat me. I had also raced this kid's bmw and he beat me, so i wanted to see who would win between the two.
So as we're cruisin I finally see the rex, so i tell him to flip around and catch him. Luckily we do right before this long stretch of a bridge. We pace him a little and he bites, but the kid driving the bmw mishifts and the rex takes off. We follow him unto the highway and pull up next to him again. The bimmers in third and we here the rex downshift. IT's On.... All the way through third it was dead even, he hits fourth and still even untill around 5,000rpm. We shut down at about 110 and the rex is 1 car length behind.
All I could tell was that it had an exhaust. I was pretty proud of that rex(because in my rex i lost by unmeasurable numbers....bus lengths), but then again the "7 can lose" (just not by much....lol)

I raced an E36(?) 330CI and stayed even with him through the top of third.

My mods were intake, no cats, and catback.

I raced a stock E36 M3 with 2 passengers in my SE..I had intake, full exhaust, 125k on motor, and a passenger. We raced from a launch twice..and both those times his front bumper was at my door..I think he had the traction on.

Or it was an automatic.
I happen to own both a 1990 RX7 GXL and a 1992 325is (E36) and I can tell you without major mods an NA 7 is not going to keep. Against an E36 M3 (the newer 330 ar almost the same car performance wise) there is no way without a turbo, unless the guy driving the bimmer doesn't know how to drive. Which I can believe was the case if it was some kid driving it.

edit: Now that i think about it, that's probably half draw to those little spur of the moment races - half the time the other guy sucks so bad it wouldn't matter what car he was driving. I have stomped plenty of cars in my FC that should have buried me.
