1st kill in my new FD vs M3

Mods are below

comming home @ 4am dropping of my girl heading south on US-1 i was crusing around 50mph and i see a Firebird Formula (2003) was going to try someting but decided just to cruise beside him for a while. but was kind of tired but decided not to do it. comming @ a light i see a white M3 (the new fat ones) with tainted windows pull in the street. so i speed up leaving the firebird n was like (i heard alot of m3's gettinig beat by FD's so this could be my first learning experience here. As soon as he sees me pulling up he revs his straight 6. So i was like ok LETS GET IT ON!. so i kinda speed up. and we didnt do any honk. who ever speed up first the other would be right behind him (3 lanes) so he speeded up first(got the jump on me). I was in second (hes pulling) shift to third (hes a half length ahead) and messed up instead of shifting to 4th i shift to second (dammit) luckly i was shifting @6k. so we did it again. 2nd Car length on me. 3rd dead even. 4th i was pulling then had to slow down (turn was comming up) . stopped at a light and asked him if he wanted to run @ a open road but he denied. just said nice car and we split up. I guess i was over to excited when i was shifting otherwise i would of won both races.

Dude, be careful. You could have almost seriously PWNED your engine and you JUST got the car. What area of US1 was it?

near the falls. afte the falls light theres a long stretch thats about a half mile long!(near a toyota dealership)

i shouldnt haved raced him though. that shifter is tricky. think im going to chill for a long while b4 i try someting like that again! but when i shifted from 3rd to 2nd the rpm's was @ 7300k BUt still i should of been more careful like you said!

When i was taking her home i noticed how many there are on that street (counted as i was taking her home in coconut grove). once you get to a certain place theres no cops for a little while. But all the cops on that street are state!

LOL
That is one of the absolute WORST places to race. Newbies

What you should have done was have him follow you to the 826 onramp N. Yeah that's right....the turn to the right, then the big turn to the left, then to the right, then the nice big straightaway. Should be able to hit at least 140-150mph when passing Dadeland mall.

I didnt want to say anything but yup, thats exactly the place to do it Fly. The other day we had a 3 way (sounds nasty) a 350Z, GTI, and my FD right there, only doing 10psi I thought it was going to be an even race, but I pulled HARD in 3rd gear took it all the way to 140 mph right before the Sunset bridge, when it changes to 2 lanes so I slammed the brakes before the bridge. Gotta know where to do this stuff now a days, US1 is WAY to heated.

Yeah, if you're mildly modded, it'll take you that far to get to 140

Good. Be careful, you don't want to hurt anyone or your car. When you race make sure you win though. Too many y ers in Miami. Last night some punk in a 04 Mustang GT with exhaust gave me a wierd look and spat on the ground next to my car, then turned right really fast. I turned right after him from the middle lane and got next to him. He had a perfect opportunity, he declined. I was on fire I would have ed him a new and he would have been shook from the sound of the rotary for years to come. Then you got the 350Z drivers, the world's fastest super sports car of course.

M3's are fun. When I first got my car, I raced a modded RSX-S and missed third. Overrevved to about 11600rpms. I know it was that high because the little Apexi RSM stores the max rev. I just shot a flame, and went home thinking I blew it up. Gotta love the rotary sometimes.

for getting your FD running. Hopefully youll be there on the 24th.

Damn school computers edit out all the bad words, makes my sentences sound all messed up. Ali that is some high rpm. There was no rev limiter? I have the Power FC set to 8500 on my street port.

Well stock 255hp happens at 6500rpm. So yours will probably be somewhere slightly above that. Hard to say really until you dyno it. Every car is different.

If I were you, I'd shift somewhere between 6500-7000rpm

Unless you have a REALLY sensitive butt, and you can feel exactly when the power begins to die

I was thinking the same thing about the rev limiter. I thought maybe the thing was wrong, but I did a search and saw another member (twinturboteddy) did the same thing, with the same results.

Flybye, how come I never see you at any of the meets. It would be cool to meet a Mod.

I'm down. I will only dyno at 10 psi though but I should still lay down 300+. Where is it? Cartech again? Sounds cool.
