then on the way home i racing a 99 civic si with LOOKED to have exhaust and dc rear sway bar.

60mph roll 3rd gear we kick it, and all i hear is VTEC YO!!! ha i jump about about half a car and i shift at 7k and i hear him still in 3rd with roaring vtec, then he pulls to a bumper length, and we stayed......sooo booooo i lose. Which doesn't bother me, cause from a stop i know i would have got em!

from a stop?

we all know sr20's are slow as hell from a stop.

allthough hearing any sort of 1st gen kills makes me miss my modded fb.

soon enough i plan to have a gsl-se with an s5 13b, half bridged sitting next to my sr20 coupe.

sr daily driver, fb weekend / track toy to bring to motorsport ranch.

sr20det's are great, not really for drag.

they dont have much from a stop, but i can almost promise you that it would be a different outcome on the street or from a roll.

im just telling you from personal experience haha, then again theres always the driver skill thing.

doesnt matter how much power a car makes if you dont know how to utilize it.

ive had a somewhat built gsl-se and ive got a somewhat modded sr, and i can tell you from experience when it was stock the sr20det would pull my se.

even more to the point of how i know it for a fact, i sold my old gsl-se to a friend here in town and weve had a few run, from a stop he would pull me into 3rd and i would hit 3rd and pull him in and it was usually over by top of 4th.

his best time at the track with my old se was a 15.28 and my time was 13.202@111.09mph. intake, DP, full exhaust, fmic a boost controller on a stock s14 sr turbo @ 14psi.

i eased off a bit in the top end hence the low e.t

the se at the track was running fulll RB exhaust, mallor 4070m fuel pump on a street ported 4-port 13b and a holley 600.

I want to convert my car over to FI, and maybe turbo it with the turbo out of an old carbed ford 2.3 Turbo.

I am not looking for crazy power, but enough to scare an s2000 or some more corvettes lol.

a blowthrough setup on a carb is fairly common, go search for it. or check out rotaryshack.com
