Just for fun one night I decided to run with my friends 2002 Volkswagon GTI 1.8 Turbo. Both of us were even on the roadway, and when the light hit green I floored it and launched at 3.5k, Burned out a tad, but by the time I got traction I pulled ahead. I ran through the gears matching my shifts at 6.5k. I stayed ahead of him until 4th, when he crept by me at about 1/2 a car legnth a second, and he gained about a car and a half until the gap stopped widening, and we remained somewhat even.


I had him until 4th. Not bad for an n/a rotary versus a straightpiped turbo haha.

My N/a is bone stock for now, I just keep up on matenience really well. Maybe it was the Royal Purple =)

I'm putting my turbo motor in this summer, after that He's gonna get used to seeing my rear end a whole lot haha.

 

I know a dude that used to have a GTI around that same year but not sure, well I raced him a couple of times and always took him. At that time I had stock ports, headers, exhaust and e-fan (not that it does anything), stock intake. I guess they are not that fast but his was completely stock. The thing is he hit a pole going 110mph a couple of months ago.

 

I use to beat GTI's in my single cam non vtec civic. I had the ebay package on that thing lol.
