Where do you guys get the numbers for your cars?

I'd like something that won't come off but I can take off, I don't want people thinking im sweet because I have numbers on my car when I go to get some chow. What do you guys use to put numbers on your car for competitions?

Anything temporary is typically magnetic.

Anything semi-permanent is typically vinyl.

You won't numbers for the HPDE's. However, you can look on the web for "vinyl racing numbers" and it should pull up several hits.

white duct tape. but it is tough on the finish.

blue masking/painters tape also works.

You won't numbers for the HPDE's.
I've been to a PCA event where they expected you to supply your own numbers.

Shoe polish on the window.

Seriously, that's pretty cheap especially coming from a PCA event.

I bought a set of number panels from Grassroots Motorsports and put them on magnetic sheet from McMaster-Carr. I used black adhesive vinyl numbers on the number panels...looks pretty spiffy!

I just got a set of magnetic numbers from this place. They were reasonably priced and look nice. I haven't used them yet so no comment on durability. They're under the SCCA AutoX/Magnetic Numbers option. Note for track days you'll still want to use some tape too because magnetic numbers can blow right off the car at speed.

Duct tape? Don't ruin your paint, I cringed when I read that
Shoe polish will etch the glass of windows - ask me how I know.

BLue tape works fine

We went to home depot and bought magnetic vent covers and some super sharpies and made our own. As long as you don't cut out the number it sticks fine - at least for autocrossing and going down the highway (when you forget to take them off). FOr the track I'd blue tape the edges of the magnets.

I have a set of magnetic numbers I purchased from Jeff on the Autocross.US forum. He
can do magnetic or vinyl. His ID on the forum is 00Lude. He accepts paypal. He does nice
work for a fair price IMO. Go to Autocross.Us forum, click members, 00Lude, and PM him.
Hope this helps.

Duct tape/ Racers tape works if you stick it to your jeans before putting it on the car. Sticky, yet won't pull the paint
