Is the 7565 you mention the one for the Porsche 997 setup?
PS-7565-PC997 SHOCK/STRUT PKG, PORSCHE 997 DOUBLE ADJUSTABLE DUAL BLEED (CAR SET) 7,250.00
from the Penske Catalog?
I'm still building the pricing spreadsheet for my long-term FD build.

Here's the rundown on all the FD Penske owners that I'm tracking:
There aren't any "off the shelf" mass produced Penske shocks for the FD. Penske custom makes them each time to whatever specs the buyer requests. Anze Suspension offers a Penske 8300 for the FD that a couple of FD owners on here have(Carlos and Jake), but it's the same deal... custom made to order. At a minimum, it'll be custom valved based on your needs. The 8300's replaced the 8100's a few years ago so they are fairly similar. Guy Atkeny also does custom Penske's for the FD. The ones that Fingerlock and Andy(SSM AutoX National Champion) run were both made by Guy.
I think the 7565 Penske is probably the best bang for the buck Penske out there. They are double adjustable(with the option to make them triple), a dual bleed shaft, option to make them remote resevoir, etc, etc, etc... The more you add on, the more they add up of course.

Gents,
As Brent mentioned, I bought a set of Penske 8100s from Fritz last year. I had them freshened and pretty much adjusted them to the center and left them alone as I dealt with other issues on the car last year. This year I'll put in the effort and probably a Pro driver in the seat to get the suspension dialed in. For those interested, I can share my notes throughout the process.

Deployment is almost over. I picked up some new PAC 1218 valve springs and GM performance MLS head gaskets. Everything should be getting put in the car soon. I'll have some pictures in the not too distant future. First event will most likely be the FSR PCA event in May with everyone else.

Update:
Back in America!
From on the engine stand:
To sitting in the car bolted up in like 5 minutes:
New ATI 10% UD pulley:
New PAC 1218 valve springs:
Installed:
Steam tube adapters and Katech Tensioner on the far side head that replaces the stock tensioner that flexes and can throw the belt:
New Quartermaster 7.25 clutch/flywheel/throwout bearing etc:
Old thermostat (note the o-ring/seal):
I have VIR on 18-20 May. The car should pretty much be done this weekend I think.

Thanks guys! Good to be home!
I'm going to stick with the new LS2 ones that are on there for now. I've seen zero failures from all my racing buddies in the SE/MA area with them to include several NASA National Champs that run alot more horsepower than I do. I'll let you be the first "I told you so" if they fail.

Finally had a chance to read through the thread. Car is excellent Brent! So happy to find out about those front fenders. 315's up front? Yes sir Can you PM me some info/pricing etc on the Penske suspension? This year I want to get my *** to the racetrack with you guys at least a couple times.

Thanks Logan. I hope we can all make it out to the track together sometime this year as well. I'll get back to the states late July/early August. NASA @ VIR in October or NASA @ Road Atlanta in December would be cool. I think we could get more people to come out for VIR. Plenty of other non race weekends to choose from as well that would probably be alot more chill with more track time.

I wrecked the car at VIR last year and it's dead. I was also disenchanted with NASA constantly changing rules and adding new classes which killed car counts. We've played this game before with the SCCA. I had planned to put the stock floor pan back in, but it was looking like they weren't going to give me a waiver for my subframe... and then they finally gave the rotary engine a compensated power to weight ratio to make up for it's lack of torque (the original reason I went V8 in the first place). Nothing else to say other than that's racing. I was really happy with how the car was doing at VIR before the incident and have some really nice traqmate data/lap times from the last couple of sessions to remind me of the potential of the car. It would have been competitive with the corvettes. I've had a few C5Zs and always keep an eye out to pick up another or a C6Z. Most of my close track friends are RX8 guys and what is called 'the C5 Mafia' so I have a pretty good idea of what they are capable of. 'Almost' Racing will always be thicker than thieves and our love for the FD is going no where soon. Fritz has his Porsche's and I have my Vette's, but we'll always have FD's.
Not sure what the future holds, but it will probably be another year or two before I get everything else taken care of to do another full court press on the track scene again. I'll probably hit up some track events as I have time(not sure in what, but I still have a couple of FDs). Probably hit up some AutoXs as well. I'm also racing Motocross again.

Post number 3000!
Well, the car isn't dead. I just had a lot going on and didn't have the time or motivation to mess with it.
Here it is after the accident:
As always, I get by with a little help from my friends. Brian and Dan (who are rockstars) took the engine and drivetrain out of the car to get the frame rail straightened while I was deployed. Damage wasn't that bad. A good chunk of the impact was absorbed in the control arms (you can see it broke the ball joint) and it also cracked my engine subframe. So after the driver's side frame rail was pulled back out slightly, here we are. New Hinson subframe, replaced all of the suspension components on both sides just to be safe, and everything is back in the car and running like a top.
All loaded up and heading to it's new home in Texas:
Basically I need to get a fender, a hood, and put the bumper on(already have it). The fenders may prove difficult to source as I believe Ronin is currently out of them and is in the process of switching manufacturers. May end up with the burnout front fenders if that's all that is available. I have to replace the windshield. I also need to get another set of wide wheels. I sold all 3 of my sets of my CCW's after the crash to take care of some expenses. I need to send my shocks off to Penske too to get checked out. Surprisingly, I think the only damage to the one is the fitting on the shock body that connects to the remote reservoir is snapped. I *think* they should be able to replace it, check and dyno everything, and send them back to me without too much fuss. We'll see. After that, the final alignment and corner balance check.
I could have the car back on the track in literally no time I feel like, but I'm still not in any hurry. I just don't have the time that I use to. It'll also depend on sourcing fenders and how backed up Penske is. Maybe a few months. NASA changed the rules again this year and what I believe is the right direction. They are also doing a split championship. East coast will be at Road Atlanta. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking hard about being there. I won't be beating my dear friends in the C5 mafia or the Danny Popp's, but I think I'll be competitive.

Thanks again for taking care of my expenses and then some, I'm feeling guilty about the wheels, should of gone easier on you
My car is finally getting all the dents pulled and painted as I type this. Also putting the front 1/2 of the cage in etc....
I didn't even replace my rear shock, I put that bitch in between two metal slots on a steel trailer and pulled it straight LOL After it was all put back together the car is still fast enough for me but I won't be completely satisfied until I run a 2 flat at VIR. The new paving should help me with that goal.
I saw "loan survivor" yesterday and thought of you when one of the soldiers (navy seal thing) said "anything in life worth doing is worth over doing. Moderation is for cowards". No truer words were ever spoken to suit the race world philosophy and glad to see you getting your car back on track and you are a great example of someone who lives their life by that motto/creed.
PS That $hit is going in my sig
