Torque Converter

So im looking into converting my FD to automatic for street/strip racing, im not having a ton of luck with manual boxes.

Main concern is the torque converter, ive got a bridgeport so my torque comes in very late in the powerband

Is it possible to match a good converter to a high rpm torque motor while keeping it streetable?

Need some advice, thanks

Short answer: probably not.

Long answer is I hope you are going with a powerglide so you have a ton of options on converters. A really high stall will be a small diameter. Small diameter will heat up the fluid driving on the street.

You can compromise and get it close but something isn't going to be as fun as it could be.
