Tire size for ITS Racer

My '85 ITS RX-7 has 205 55 14's mounted on the rims.

Do think I would have any problem using 225 50 14's? I have a couple of sets from my VW racer.

Any thoughts?

Thanks gs

Dunno on a first gen, sorry All I can say is measure your current clearance.. On my 2G, I run 225/50/15s with a 7/32" spacer, others have said that they run no spacer.

I could run a 225/50-15 Victorracer on a stock 15x7 40mm offset wheel without rubbing. For a 225/40-15 Hoosier on the same wheel I need a 1/4" spacer. But that's on a 2G also.

The Hoosier size in my last post should be 225/45-15. And I've heard of 1G guys using 225 tires. Head over to wwwimprovedtouring.com and ask over there. They are some active 1G IT guys over there.
