Star Mazda Video..

Found this cool test video of the Renesis powered Star Mazda car... I love the sound of the gearbox...

It has a bit of F1 in the sound.

It is unmistakably Rotary but man does that sequential gearbox make it sound awesome on downshifts or what.

Haha.. Mk1's were nothing like that though.. I'd rather have a FF z-tech or a F Renault.. even a newer FF1600 for that matter! ..

These things are faster then the Atlantics..

that thing sounds wicked..... Sounds like there are some strange pops or a millisecond blip and loss of power during some of the longer accellerations. Downshifting that gearbox sounds crazy.

my friend is on a star mazda team, for a while i was trying to get with a formula car team but i've all but decided to stick to sports car racing for the future. The star mazdas are pretty cool but it'd be tought to take orders from a 15 year old about setup.

This is reminescent of what I heard when I attended the USGP in '03. F1 gear shifts sound like explosive bangs, esp. as they go screaming down that long Indy straight.
