San Francisco SCCA round 7 & 8 Thunderhill Report and vid.
Spent last weekend cooking at Thunderhill. 104 degress on Saturday at race time!!. Love my cool suit.....That and the A/C in Fingerlock's trailer.
My Self, Fingerlock and Bill with his LS1 were representing the FD's. The racing was some what unremarkable. My car was essentially unchanged save for some new front Outlaw calipers, Fingerlock was reving faster with his new light flywheel and LS1 Bill continued his mods with a wide front end. He's now running 315 fronts to complement his 335 rears. This seems to work well with his Jericho trans, and ford rear end as he was blistering on Sunday in the 53's.
Saturday however, he was running hot......Very hot and wound up melting a fuse block that took him out for the race for a few laps. This cost him the win......
Groups 1 and 3 were combined which had us running with the Tube frame, slick tired, cars. The GT2 cars made for great race companions. I could out qual them but at race time by late race they continued to grip and corner with the slicks while the DOT's started to fade. Watch the for the turn 14 pass from Jose in his BP? normally aspirated car, then listen to his car as we pull down the straight. Here's the link to the Video from Saturday. My car did well in the heat. I'm still struggling with boost control and compressor surge at partial throttle.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ORhNQQaSp0 .......usual crappy quality enhanced by youtube.
Enjoy and come out and see us at the track. Next event is September 3-5.

Nice! An air conditioned trailer. I need to get out and watch you guys again.
I think the owner of that tube framed RX is on here as well. I think his name is Josh. What is he running a 12a peripheral port?
Congrats on your first win. You worked hard for it.
I'm hoping to be in SM next year. Been wrenching on a 90 the last few months getting it "ready".
Cheers.

Wow, a really hot weekend. I actually saw a bird flying through the air burst into flames!
A few things: I was really happy to see Niles win the race on Saturday, I was really happy I didn't blow up my motor on Saturday and I was really happy to drive my car onto the trailer Sunday, seemingly no worse for the wear.
Cheers to you Niles...
