s5 n/a vs. lightly modded civic si, chances??
so my friend timmy just got this 99 civic si, and is pretty proud of it, he thinks i have no chance. i have a 1989 fc GTU, no engine mods, just lowered. hes talkin big like his vtec is amazing or something, right now he only has an intake, headers, and catback (might be only a muffler). i dont know much about vtec, but is it all that great? after all its still just a honda. whos got the upper hand here? btw hes not that great on stick yet.

hmm... depends on driver, and pretty much the chicken game, he who loses will lose... lol
i honestly think the civic might have the upper hand (if it came with the b16? idk.)
civics weight, next to nothing, rx7 are 2800lbs or so...
if that is the b16 motor in there i think he has around 160 hp to the crank stock? those mods do slightly next to nothing if anything hes pushing 175 or something to the crank...
stock n/a erg... 160 hp? hmm... get a exhaust system and a intake and call it a fair match. i think the rotorie will take the exhaust system slightly more aggressively.
idk, like i said as of right now it does seem like he has the upper hand.

You're going to lose, assuming equal drivers. The Si runs mid-low 15s. Your 7 will be lucky to hit high 15s. I sincerely hope that you fork over the $15 to do this at a dragstrip instead of putting people at risk by doing it on the street.

I would say...no. Unless he is crappy at drivigna stick, at which point you can win.
But thsi is all assuming you are jsut drag racing...take him out to the twisties and let him know why any self respecting sports car is rwd
