Anybody else find it ironic that in the last race they blew an engine after being allowed to open up the air restrictor for an extra ~50hp? Maybe they don't know about the 3mod rule...

They didn't blow the engine. A Porsche rear ended them and broke an oil cooling line to their transmission. The tranny overheated and died.

I must have missed the part where the engine blew up, maybe when I was talking to the driver and he told me that it was a gearbox problem he didnt know what he was talking about ...

This is good.

They should be helping out RE-Amemiya in the GT300 JGTC class as well if they're doing this IMO. They've been fighting for 1st place for years now and are coming ridiculously close at times. It'd be easily attainable if Mazda provided some factory support.

yeah, a class JGTC win would be a nice feather in their car, but realistically I don't think that would help them out much in the USDM. Most race fans in the US either arent huge fans of JGTC or even know it exists.

The engine didn't blow up. It was the transmission that went out because a Porsche rear ended them and broke a tranny oil cooler line.
