Any ideas on what can be done to make this project. besides ''mucho dinero'' and some american money.
Where I race I'm alowed to update my engine and open for mod's including programable ECU.

If you belong to MazdaComp, you can get a crate Renesis for $5k. Don't know if that includes any computer stuff or not.

Don't screw around, buy a totalled RX8 for $6-12K. Look around on www.copart.com or www.iaai.com.

You'll find there are at least 5 at any one time going up for auction. Contact a local wrecking yard so they can bid it for you.

A rolled RX-8 w/Nav went for $8K around here. The car was wrecked in Oct '04, sold in the spring of '05. It had less than 2,000 miles IIRC. Excellent donor car, still ran and drove. You get all the electronics you care to use, trans, starter, ECU, etc, etc...

Figure you could sell several thousand dollars of parts off the wrecked 8 that you didn't want/need.

Can you find an RX8 up there for that much? I haven't seen an RX8 go for much less than $15k within driving distance of here. One was totally demolished and still went for $10k.

i am going to talk to my friend who works at the dealer (he can get discounts) about getting a Rensis and the such like that. Even though getting a owned RX8 might be the way to go.

Here is an automatic with a buy it now of $5950. I know the auto cars would sell for less than the 6spd cars.

There was another one on Ebay a while back, sold for ~$8500 IIRC, it was a 6spd...

I just re-read my post... I meant the car was wrecked in Oct '03 and sold at auction in the spring of '04... I was only 1 yr off.

Are you sure that's the MazdaComp price? Sounds like an awful lot of money for so few parts and only 238 HP. Brand spanking new Miata engines are only $2K from MazdaComp.

Hell, a new Z06 motor is only $6,995.

It would be a better deal to bridgeport a 13b 4port and put a carb on it; and infinitely easier to install and tune.

I agree... the variable runners and the 6PI and whatnot are to aid in emissions/gas mileage/streetability. No need for that in a race car.

Well with a renesis you already have 238hp on a factory engine good for 100,000 miles.
with a little porting, better exhaust..... who knows?

Depending on how serious you are, Speed Source might be a good group to talk to. They won their class this season in Grand Am with their Renesis -8

It was when I asked while ordering seals for my rebuild 6 months ago. They didn't have any at the time, though. They said the same as anybody with much sense when I asked about it ..."Why?".
