All RX-7s have the same hub size spline pattern. I have a buddy with a 3rd gen wheel on his 80.

Yes, Sparco does have a splined coupler, but have you ever priced that thing?

It's out of this world.

The adapter I was referring to will let you bolt your 6-bolt Sparco/Momo wheel to a standard 3-bolt coupler. This way you save a ton on the coupler and end up saving big money in the long run.

The coupler adapter is not on their website, but I have emailed Craig and he confirmed they do sell it. The link is:

Hi TeamWireRacing , I was wondering, what else do I need if I am going with Sweet, momo steering wheel, in a 2nd Gen RX7? Do I need some sort of adaptor (3 to 6 hole)? Where can I find them cheap (site)? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey... there is a bolt on hub adapter with quick release steering wheel option... it works perfectly with the FD as an easy bolt on... see my other post to this forum. You can buy it through finishline performance.

www.finishlineperformance.com

You want the 90-97 Miata hub adapter and the quick release adapter (works for FD too)

I just bought the longacre racing quick release hub, but how do you weld it in? Can anyone show how they did it?

Sorry to post a tad late on this one.. but Mike at ISC has a bolt on adapter..

http://www.iscracing.net/2_racecar_accessories.htm

It used the standard Hex quick release in combination with the factory spline/bolt on part.

120 Bucks.

Whatever any of you do- don't buy the one from newpoint-radiator on eBay. My girl bought it for me as an Easter gift and it ended up being the biggest pile of **** ever. Nothing fit. Nothing worked (even their own components) I tried pretending I was surprised for her sake but I half way knew better. Lol

Even though an old thread, good to have this reference:

TEKNIQ - Snap-Off System

SnapOff works great. Had one on my FD for 4 years now.

We use the "Hex" adapter. Here is how we installed it with a Momo wheel

Momo the 3 bolt adapter

Hard to tell by the pictures. I took the proper thread pitch nut and bolt. Threaded the Nut on the bolt and chucked in a drill press. Turned on drill and used an angle grinder to "machine" the nut to the same diameter as the inside of the "Hex". Tack welded nut to Hex and threaded onto steering shaft. This kept the Hex centered on the Steering shaft. Tig welded it all together.

I thought i had pics of it finished in the car. I guess not. I can get them if anyone needs them
