both are sanctioning bodies. they hold races and set rules for competition. they both do similair functions

The SCCA is bigger in terms of members than NASA. This means it has more people to make happy. When you try for a happy medium some people are still not happy. They go off and build something to try and fix what they feel is wrong with the other.

Long story short.......They are the same in terms of being a sanctioning body. Their class structure if different. Each one has good points and bad points.

i believe SCCA is a little stricter in rules and classes and licenses. they also require 2 schools to get your racing license as opposed to 1 with NASA.
