To be honest, I don't know what to expect from it. On it's first few runs, it should be able to pull low 13s easily, and after it starts getting modded more and more, high 11s, low 12s should be well within reach.

BTW: That's an all-motor car. We are scrambling to get it running and tuned before the August 17-18th for the NHRA Sport Compact Nationals in Woodburn.

Well, here is what i used to run at NASA HPDE events:

but after two blown engines, sigh... and i did alot to protect the second. And considering it's also my daily driver - racing it made that difficult.

So here is the new project - soon to be NASA Pro7 car (suspension just finished, also shown below):

Question O/T

Hedgehog,

What wheels did you end up with? They look like Volk LE37Ts?

I ended up with Buddy Club P1 Racing II ( http://www.first-inc.co.jp/buddyclub/p1/p1_lup3.htm ) in 17x9.0 @ 45mm offset. They look nice (similar to LE37T and SSR Comps) but are frikkin heavy ***. I regret that decision....but no wheel I liked came in that size/offset. Actually Hart Wheels (Racing Hart) in Japan was willing to custom make a CP-035 in any size/offset I wanted but the cost wudda been around CAD$1100 per rim + shipping. I think I'm gonna seriously consider CCW in 18x10 w/ 285/30-18 next.

Re: Re: O/T

Coulda gone that route with SSR Integral A2s in 9 x 17, 45-mm offset...I have a set with 255/40-17 AVS Intermediates...and the combo weighs 45 lbs each corner. The IA2s were cheap at $289 each...they're all sold out now, though...255/40-17 AVS Is are $97 each...all are Tire Rack prices, less shipping and taxes...

I agree that THE setup for high/low speed corner carving is CCW P4 Mesh, 10 x 18s with 285/30-18 Hoosier R3S03s!

Go with CCW wheels, for the money, weight, apperance and most importantly quality, you can't beat them. He can make any size/offset you want and there about 1800-2000 for a set of 4. Kevin Wyum got me hooked on them and his 17x11's weight like 12lbs or something.

JW,

Did you wreck your baby, or are you planning on getting caught in the annual 1st lap melee at the Runoffs?

Guys the car is an E production SCCA race car and I race in the same class as "BUTTLIPS" above. Rules require that we brace the winshield but that pic is misleading. I can see just fine although some might argue that...

Manny- the new CCW mesh in track configuration weigh 20. 5 lbs in 18x10. John's using a new lightweight center with the edges drilled out. See Lou Youngs pics: http://www2.louyoung.com:156/OpenTra...7/DSCF0465.jpg
