nitto NT-01 vs nitto RII vs victoracer vs v710?

has anyone seen or heard about a test with the new NT-01?
they look promising.
I'm about to buy some 275-40-17's to run on four corners.

I'm debating about getting a dual purpose tire like the RII or going extreme like the v710. only problem is i don't have trailer yet and the tracks i go to are pretty far ((lime rock is 3 hour drive and pocono is 90 minute drive). i think driving these on v710's is risky if it rains. and will it kill much life? probably won't get the tire hot at all though.

i'm not gonna get toyo ra1 because i hear they last a long time but aren't that sticky and are expensive. But i've heard much good about the nitto RII, so I think i'm leaning in that direction. But v710's would be killer; i do race with a bunch of friends so i could convince each of them to carry one tire and i'll carry two in my car on the way up there

although i'm so cheap that if i see some used ones of any variety in my size i may pick them up instead.

I don't know anything of the Nittos but if you're driving for hours at a time to get to the track I wouldn't recommend doing it on any R compound, especially the V710.

well i use the yok ao32R (hard compound) and its an R tire and i have no issues driving anywhere on it.
but i want something stickier

i think the nitto RII will be the same way from what i've read many times. it's popular with the ponycar crowd because it was only offered in 275-40-17 for a long time (hence not approved by SCCA).

google is great.

MM&FF magazine had the NT-01 faster than toyo ra1 and pirelli corsa (I'm not surprised):

Page 4 of above article has good comments about it too. Page 7 has the track times results.

Normal guys on corvette forum used them on autoX and like them but said they suck in rain:

but i think i'm leaning towards the nitto RII. the NT-01 sounds like pretty extreme like v710 or hoosier.
