THill was great.... very hot 80* at 8am... 100*+ from 11am on. I saw Paul (Silkworm) out there breaking in his new motor and we dualed for a lap in Group 4..... . It was fun and his car certainly handles.

I battled with Evan Ginsberg in his fully prepared race C4 Vette with 500hp+, lexan everything, ducted everything, 315's up front 335's out back for 4 laps or so... I assume he was pushing it but he never got past me...

I was very happy with my car and IMO I wouldn't change a thing. Ferodo DS3000 pads are great for the track with zero brake fade and the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 285/30/18 tires are incredible once up to temp.

My car had no understeer, no bumpsteer, and could easily have slight oversteer induced which I experimented with. Very well balanced after the LS1 swap. 2800lbs 49.9% front/50.1% rear.... I had a race car driver pilot it for a session and he was very very impressed. Gobs of power he said and handled great.

I did 5400rpm in 5th down the long straightaway. 3:90 gears, .75 ratio in 5th... Speedo no workie!

Glad you got it going Mark. Sounds like a great day. Saw your post on Torq. someone posted 136mph base on your info.

What did you wind up using for front castor. How was the steering?

The steering without the pump (looped rack) felt great. No bumpsteer whatsoever. The car rips in the corners...

Front:
-2*
6.1* caster
zero toe

Rear:
-1.3*
1/16 combined toe

2800lbs total (no spare/jack/rear carpet/bins/divider)
.4993% front l690 r708
.5007% rear l712 r690

With me in the car: 2943lbs
cross weights 1471/1472

Someone mentioned the speed at 5400rpm in 5th was 136mph.

Very fast car Mark... I thought you were just running a standard 13B TT, didn't realize you had the big 'un in there til you flew by me going into 9.

Those who think V8=slow track car, Mark's car will prove that concept wrong real fast.

LOL, not til next month, I was breaking the motor in, wasn't trying to go all out.. Had some fun passing people on starts, they just weren't willing to stick their car where I could go, but overall, pretty boring I left the camera off. End of June should have something new for ya
