NASA: Thunder Hill, HPDE June 25th & 26th

I'm in, both days.

This will be my very first NASA event, and my first event with races. I've just run open track with various groups.

I signed up for Group3, running my Pro7 car, #20.

How many others are going for the HPDE, racing, or just spectating?

I've run it once with the bypass, and that was also the only time I've used a timer.

I *think* I was running 2:21s, but can't recall, or find the result page. I was trying to stop cracking brake rotors, so I was being nice to the brake pedal.

Side note, do you know where I could buy a used spec tire 185/60-13? I have one that's chorded, and it would be nice to have a full spare set of tires.

Looking forward to meeting you, and watching a race.

Finding a used Toyo that is not corded is not easy. Everyone I know runs em till they cord, (and then some!) You might try Ron @ AIM tire, he might have a usable one in the junk pile.

Have you solved your rotor cracking issues? Add ducts yet?

see ya there!

Speedtoys will be glad to hand ya over an old tire off my rack at the races.

Come find me at the Tow Truck..ask for Jeff.

I have some from last year I will use in an "Oh God..I need a tire.." situation, but im doing pretty well on tire budget so far...so Ive got an old scrubber or so.

Ive got TWO really good Yokohama race tires I snagged from the SCCA pile once, want em? I cant use em.

We ran a 2:14.1 for the fast lap of class last time out..and were still sorting things out with a new driver.

Rotors..face it..they crack.

Im only replacing one rotor every couple weekends, the trick is using the brakes only where you need to, work on brake management..use em less. I dont have ducts, id LIKE some, but $$$ should be spent for other things right now.

Oh ya..dont forget to do the mod on the caliper backing plate, so you can swap rotors in 10 minutes, and not 30.

Well, I am a provisional instructor, so one would hope I could find the Berm... My car is ready, but for a competent Haltech tuner...

Excellent Jeff, thanks for the offer. I'll find you.

It seems there will be tons of RX7s there, this is going to be FUN!

I'll be the clown with the perma grin in group 3, provided they let me run that group.

Theres always a ton of 7s there, just..they need to start RACING again. The PS7/Pro7 field combined, is outnumbered by former Pro7 race cars in the HPDE groups these days.

Maybe I'll have my Supra back by then, it's usually good for some 2:10s. If so, I'll be instructing, it's a 2hour + drive, so too far to spectate...

What model?

Ive a 3rd gen hybrid im working on..bout ready for the next few baby steps.

Hybrid motor..done
Get the new IC installed..fab up the mounts/etc.
Install the Nylon bushings kit
5spd conversion from auto
Fan upgrade to elec, perhaps rad upgrade itself (if I can afford that)

Bout 2 more years, it'll be in E0...no rush.

Mine is a 97 6 spd, ADJ. Sways, Ground Control Advanced Design, RA1s. Still twin turbo w/exhaust, and EBC.This fall I'll put the single on. The same turbo that makes 450 on my 13BT will make 700rwhp on my Supra LOL. What motor are you doing?

I did he N/A pistons in the turbo block, bought me 60Hp/60FtLbs at the same boost levels.

Im not interested in big turbo/fuel mods.

Daily driver tires are RA-1s, koni yellows, big sways..and stock springs. They are really nice linear springs if you strut them enough.

Bout 3 weeks ago the wife unknowingly outran county up Hwy9 from Saratoga. A truck got up on her ***..she pulled over, he didnt pass, being 9pm she said screw it and just cruised up the hill (she used to NASA instruct)..well, thats the last she saw of THAT cop till the summit. She still got off.
