MAZDASPEED Survey
I don't know what David got but there is this floating around now...

Based on some recent e-mails, it would appear that some of you may be receiving inquiries regarding SCCA's business relationship with Mazda. For some background--about two weeks ago, Mazda sent out a survey to its Mazdaspeed members. In the cover letter was a suggestion that responders may want to include the SCCA headquarters and Board of Directors as part of their feedback. To date, we have received about 35 e-mails addressed to me or the BOD. What follows is the statement we are sending to acknowledge receipt of the e-mail.
"Thank you for your input. We at SCCA clearly understand the position and importance of Mazda in the grassroots racing community and, in particular, its support for our racers that drive Mazda products. To that end, since the issues with the MSR package occurred earlier this summer, the SCCA has been working to resolve its differences with Mazda. However, with various public and private comments made by Mazda in recent weeks, it is clear that there is much more work to be done. The plan is for SCCA to meet with Mazda personnel again in the very near future. We are committed to doing everything we can to repair the damage and put both companies on a road to the outstanding relationship and partnership that we have enjoyed in the past.
We all have a common goal-the betterment of SCCA, and in situations like this, we need and appreciate the support of the members for which the Club exists."

I am not sure I believe the 35 emails. Who's to say he's not making up some number? Wouldn't there be incentive to down play this and say far fewer emails came in than actual? Who's to validate that? The talk is all over the place but perhaps SCCA (and would have incentive to do) wants to downplay the reaction from everyone.

I find the number - 35 - hard to believe as well. I wrote in and I have to believe that more than 35 did as well.
This weekend the BOD is in a face to face session in Topeka. I would hope that something productive regarding this issue is communicated next week.

I like how the quote begins with "Thank you for your input." The standard response SCCA gives when they ignore a competetion adjustment request. And just wants a person to go away.
Simply classic.
The rugs are up, brooms in hand.
Wonder how many SCCA members will switch to another club next year.

Scott, at this time I could care less about the SS crap. RIGHT NOW we need the meeting to come to completion with one less BoD member untill a replacement is in place. A VERY STRONG message needs to besent to the BoD members that will get their attention. Anythin less is totally un accecptable. Oh, maybe we need the Production Ad-hoc to make the dump decision.

I had to tend to family health issues this summer and fall, and I was negligent on answering Mazspeeds survey request. Things are finally settling down a little in my household, and I finally opened that survey link 4 Dec, and the web site said I was too late, the survey had been closed. I am glad y'all are discussing it here on this forum so that I can know whats going on.
Have the SCCA national BoD election results been posted somewhere yet? A bunch of us South East racers voted for Creighton in Atlanta, a man whose life has been spent running a road racing business. I hope he got elected to SEDIV BoD position. I think some of SCCAs national problem is that some of the elected Directors were elected becasue they are nice people, but when they get the job it turns out that they don't know much about running a big business.

NASA Midwest (Indiana/Ohio) runs like a well oiled machine (thats not a rotary lol).... I have raced with both and I much prefer the legitimacy and attitude that NASA lays forth....
MY two cents

He did. If you were to go to the SCCA site you could search for the total results. There are four new BoD members. Two were at the 6 year term limite.
