Mazda Video at PCA Roebeling Road Raceway

A little compilation of a 1st and 3rd gen. RX7; a RX8; and a Miata at the Porsche Club of America high-speed driving event at Roebling Road Raceway, November 2006.

BTW: the track was re-paved about 3-months ago, and I can attest that it is about 2-3 seconds FASTER than before.

The car just sticks and goes where you point.

Thumbs up Love most racing

After viewing the full clip it looks like a driver training session. No one car was using up the full track width and to early on the turn in leaving a poor exit on the corners. But still they are driving the cars at speed like it should be on the track and not on the street. As far as the comment about turn in and pointing, slow entry speed will give you that feeling. I find with the set up on my car I tend to push on turn in then compensate with throttle (Not much) to have the rear of the car rotate out to get me to point in the direction I want to go. Then I back off slowly to hook up the rear end then reapply my throttle smoothly to accelerate off the corner with a small amount of counter steer. As you all know each car is different and each corner and driver as well. There is no perfect way around a corner just some standard tips to use on a track. Practice and having a good feel and understanding of what make a car handle makes for good corner speeds.

Good Racing Guys

Excellent! Rob was there with the Roar Racing RX-8. We hung out a bit during an August Road Atlanta track weekend. Great guy! I love Roebling. I haven't gone there in the 7 yet, but it's a great track for the 8! Can't wait to experience it in the 7 now. I've heard that since the repaving, it is a heck of a lot better!

Thanks for sharing.

That RX8 was a Grand AM cup car. I am pretty sure I saw him at Barber's.

Hello Neil

Enjoyed your video at Roebling Road. It sure was nice to see that track again. I now live in Denmark but back in the early 90's, I used to race a F440 in the SCCA National level and always left RR with a good memories.

Best of luck with your FD and future track events

Oliver
