Interesting thread. I have a buddy with another race FC that we compared information on this exact situation. He was running a 4:88 rear gear and I was running a 4:10 rear. What was funny was that when he was running a stock TII box, we would come out of 5B at Mosport side by side and he would slightly pull me in each gear due to the greater torque multiplication of the 4:88 gear. However, we would be shifting at the same time, but he would always always be a gear higher (me 2nd to 3rd, him 3rd to 4th). We figured out that it would give him about 2 seconds a lap just in more torque.

The bigger change happened when he swapped to the Mazda Comp box. The close ratios of the gears and the reduced rpm drop, really allowed him to whoop my a$$. Before, he would gain a couple of car lengths on me up Andretti straight, after the swap....... about 10 lengths at least.

I want the 5:12 diff and the Comp box. Its a quick 5 to 8 second per lap improvement with no other changes.
