this is exactly why i love kuhmo... they are a company made for racers that say: we made great, yet cheap tires and we're proud of them... we do this job to help, not to make money and will go out of our way to help fellow racers

I think it's absolutly about the money.
In the long run, it's WAY better financially for them to give out a few hundred sets of tires than to stick a handfull of racers with a set of defective tires.
In this market, your reputation for dealing with a problem is VERY important. There's only what, four makers of tires for autocross? If they screw people, those people and LOTS more will NEVER buy tires from them again.

Even better is if you've already rinsed your 710's then get free replacements later, when you would have been looking at changiing them anyway because they were worn
