Didn't have much time after dinner last night but I managed to remove each fastener that held the shifter forks in place one by one, degreased each bolt and the tapped hole on the shifter rod then reassembled with blue loctite and torqued down. I had to replace the chewed up 10.9 bolt with a stainless 9.9 but I hope it holds properly. I also torqued down the bearing cap plate bolts. I re-installed the intermediate housing and gave it a quick and dirty bench test. I tapped each shifter rod back and forth whilst I turned the input shaft by hand. It appears that Neutral, 1st through 5th and reverse are now working but I won't fully know until I finish re-assembling the gearbox. Results and pictures later.
