Innaugural 6 Hours of Buttonwillow

On June 7, 2008 the inaugural 6 Hours of Buttonwillow presented by AEM will make history at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. This event is a warm-up to NASA's legendary 25 Hours of Thunderhill and should be equally as exciting for both the competitors and fans coming to watch the race.
The race will begin at 12:15 pm, which will place all the competition in daylight, allowing competitors to forego the lights usually required for night racing. One warm-up and qualification session will precede the start of the race so the racers will have sufficient track time to shake down their rides prior to the green flag. The race will conclude with a champagne award presentation followed by a delicious BBQ and Beer Garden sponsored by AEM. NASA SoCal is also proud to announce that the Mike Reilly Band (former Allman Brothers band member) will be jamming on stage as the race concludes flooding the track with their signature Blues Rock sound.
I'll be there driving the Sampson Racing Communications RX-7. Anyone else planning to go?
The Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car Challenge is the next day (June 8th at Buttonwillow. Sounds like a fun weekend to spectate. Don't think I'll be able to make it though.
